I was hesitant to try this Mastro's because I've always considered this restaurant as more of a destination dining experience. Decided to finally give this location a try and I was not disappointed. We decided to splurge and started off with the Dungeness Crab Cocktail and Wagyu Beef Roll. The Crab Cocktail was served with an amazing smoky presentation. Each piece of crab was so sweet and moist. The Wagyu Beef Roll was kind of a weird mix of flavors with aspaagus, jalapeno, and the sauce. For our entrees we ordered the 22oz Bone-in Ribeye with Peppercorn sauce and the Crispy Garlic Bigeye Tuna Sashimi. The Ribeye was cooked to a perfectly juicy Medium Rare and the Sashimi was packed with flavor. The sides we ordered were the Scalloped Potatoes and Creamed Corn. The Creamed Corn was some the best I've had, but our potatoes were undercooked and hard. Our server was quick to swap them out for the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which were much better. Overall the food was top notch and the service was on point. I used to come here when it was Del Frisco's and I'm impressed with how they remodeled the interior to achieve more of a fine dining atmosphere.

Casually was walking around the spectroom and came across this 💎, the restaurant haven't disappointed, Mastro’s Ocean Club exceeded every expectation from the moment we walked in. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff made the entire evening feel warm, welcoming, and effortlessly luxurious. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable — dim lighting, beautiful ambiance, and the perfect setting for an unforgettable dinner. Every dish arrived looking like a masterpiece. The food presentation was absolutely stunning, with every detail carefully crafted. And the steak… easily one of the most tender, soft, and flavorful steaks I’ve ever had. Each juicy bite melted perfectly, packed with rich flavor and cooked to absolute perfection. From the service to the atmosphere to the quality of the food, everything was flawless. Truly a 5-star dining experience that I can’t wait to return to.

This is a hard one because I try not to bag on businesses because I understand that every business can have a bad day, The food at Mastro’s is always top-notch. I’ve never had an issue with the food or the drink drinks prepared here. They are amazing… However, the last time I was in there on Valentine’s Day The issue that occurred and was not correctly rectified had a huge impact. I work two jobs and had saved up some money to be able to have a nice dinner with my husband, The food was excellent, but as we went to pay our bill, we were overcharged by over $300. Thankfully, I checked the receipt before we left and notified our server and she assured me that it would be taken care of and that no charge would come onto my card for that amount of money. We thanked her and left. I look at my bank Statement a couple of days later and I see a charge on there for $450 + On my card… For somebody else’s dinner!! This would be inconvenient to say the least for somebody who was wealthy, but for somebody like myself this meant that I was not able to pay my credit card bill on time and I now have to spend an entire another year in credit building As an immigrant! When I called Matros, they apologized profusely, but seemed to have no clue how this happened… They assured me that I would get my money that I overpaid returned to me within five business days, which is utterly ridiculous. They caused this issue and then left me with bills to pay and $300 plus missing from my account. There was no attempt to even rectify their mistake with a free a drink or free appetizer.. Nothing. There was also an offhanded comment about the fact that I left a very poor tip for the server… Yeah, that’s what happens when you overcharge people like that… That’s not what I would consider excellent service! If you want the True Mastros steakhouse experience, It’s definitely worth the drive to Newport Beach. The staff are exceptional. The food and drinks are world class and the atmosphere is always on point. If you want the true Newport Beach steakhouse Experience then definitely go to the one that is actually in Newport. This Irvine location feels like a Diet version of the same … It’s like Coca-Cola zero sugar… It’s Coca-Cola, but it just ain’t right.

Do not waste your time or money at this location, there are plenty of other restaurants at this price point that will actually respect you and your experience. We visited Mastro’s to celebrate a significant family milestone, the birthdays of my husband, a first-time father, and his brother, and our first outing with our 2 month old baby. We booked three and a half months in advance and specifically requested a private dining room to ensure the environment was appropriate for our newborn. My mother called three separate times to confirm the private room, and Mastro’s even called us the day before to reconfirm every detail. When we arrived, we were seated at a standard table in the main dining room. No private room, no apology, just dismissiveness from the manager, Tyler. Rather than acknowledging the oversight, he insisted the private room had never been booked, essentially gaslighting us despite our multiple confirmed reservations. His only alternative? The cold, rainy patio. For a newborn. When you’re spending $2,000 on a celebratory dinner at a fine dining establishment, there is a basic expectation of professionalism and accountability. Tyler met none of it. As someone who has also worked in the hospitality industry, I was genuinely appalled. To make matters worse, I reached out directly to the General Manager, Sabrina, to share this feedback and give leadership the opportunity to make it right. I received no response. Not even an acknowledgment. The food was good and the rest of the service team was wonderful, which only makes the failure in leadership more glaring. Save your special moments for a restaurant whose management team is worthy of them.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was really disappointing. We chose Mastro’s at the Irvine Spectrum to celebrate a milestone birthday for both myself and my brother. It was also a big moment for us personally, it was the first time we were going out to dinner with our 2 month old newborn. Because of that, having a private room wasn’t just a preference, it was something we specifically planned for to feel comfortable. We made our reservation over 3 months in advance and called three separate times to confirm that the private room was secured. (I know it sounds crazy but my mom is a great planner). My mother even called the night before and was told directly by their staff that everything was confirmed, even the private dining room. When we arrived, we were told by the manager, Tyler, that we did not have the private room booked. Instead, he tried to seat us at a busy table in the middle of the restaurant. When we explained the situation and the multiple confirmations, he was dismissive and rude, and made it seem like we were at fault. When we asked if there were any other options, the only alternative offered was an outdoor table (while covered) it was cold and raining outside. There was no apology, no effort to accommodate, and no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, especially given we had a newborn with us. What makes this more frustrating is that we’ve spent several holidays and birthdays with the Mastro’s organization over the years. The service from our server and the rest of the staff was actually great, but the way this situation was handled completely overshadowed the evening. We’re extremely disappointed. We just hope this feedback reaches the right people so this doesn’t happen to another family, especially one in a similar situation trying to plan something meaningful.
