I ordered a New York chicken sandwich and when I received the order, of course I checked it like a normal customer would. When I opened the food box, it was a strong odor of seafood, which made me go ask the cashier do they fry their chicken and seafood in the same oil. He proceeds to say yes and the manager/owner overheard the convo of me telling the cashier that I can’t eat the sandwich and need a refund because I had no knowledge of them frying everything in the same oil and have actually been to this establishment 1000 times, it was just my first time trying that specific sandwich. So, I wouldn’t think to ask or mention anything like that, because most establishments I have been to in my 33 years of living, they usually don’t cross contaminate like that. If it’s an actual seafood spot, then yes, I would expect that. THE OWNER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND WAS MAD BECAUSE SHE HAD TO DO A REFUND OF $13 DUE TO A SIMPLE MISUNDERSTANDING AND DIDN’T EVEN OFFER FOR ME TO PICK ANYTHING ELSE FROM THE MENU. As a customer was standing behind me, she was literally going back and forth with me, telling me that I should’ve said something before hand, but I’m going to say it again, in my 33 years of living and eating fast food, I have never in my life received a chicken sandwich that smell like seafood. Who wants there chicken sandwich smelling and tasting like seafood oil?? Customers have no knowledge of how things are being prepared in the kitchen so putting a allergy warning sign up and eliminating the rude attitude is helpful when someone is just simply trying to do a basic daily task and go on about their day.
