The small jerk chicken plate, though quite large in portion, was also very pricey. I ordered one of these and it was ready pretty fast. I sat down on their front patio and ate it there. Though it was tasty and spicy, after having Jamaican food in places like London and Toronto, it just felt like this was not the same. It did not feel as authentic or as good as what I have had elsewhere. Also the chicken was a bit cold when I got it, I don't know why that would be.
Everything else was fine though, the service was fast despite a high volume of orders, and I liked how they set up a small seating area in front of the restaurant with some music playing in the back.
I really wanted to like this place more but I feel like I probably will not be back. The food is just too expensive and not worth returning for.

Title: 5-Star Review
Absolutely loved my experience at Hungry Joe’s Jamaican Restaurant! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was flavorful, authentic, and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, the service was friendly, and every bite was packed with that delicious Jamaican flavor. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others. Great food and great vibes! 🇯🇲❤️
There was a mix up with my order. They replaced it with no problems. The food is so good and worth it.
First time visit. My friend got oxtail and I got vegitarian curry. Both were good. There were outside seating with umbrellas to sit. Good location.

Favorite Jamaican spot in LA as an East Coast Jamaican. 🇯🇲
The food is consistently on point, the portions are solid, and I love that you can add extra meats to your entrée for a really reasonable price. The pepper steak and stew peas are both criminally underrated! Even the mac and cheese is pretty solid for a Jamaican spot.
The staff is always so warm and welcoming—they honestly make it feel homey. It’s also right next to Yaya’s Island Mart, so you can grab affordable Caribbean and other diasporic products before or after picking up my takeout.
My only gripe: I wish they offered their patties and Jamaican drinks (Ting + D&G sodas) on the delivery apps. It feels like such an easy fix. Nobody wants to order an authentic Jamaican meal without a patty and a Ting to match. 😭😂
Still one of my go-to spots in LA. 🇯🇲❤️
