- BNBea NelsonMay 19, 20261.0If you have peanut allergies do not enter the building. The restaurant uses peanut oil to fry their french fries. The peanut oil is in the air and it caused my face, lips and tongue to swell up while waiting in line to order. At first I did not know why this was happening. I looked at the menu above the cashiers and found the words peanut oil in the middle of the menu. I would have never entered the restaurant if I knew peanut oil was used. Normally hamburger restaurants were a safe place to eat for my peanut allergies and that day I decided to try Five Guys, because it is new in my area. So I was unaware peanut oil was used. I also noticed customers were eating peanuts at the tables in the restaurant, but that does not effect my peanut allergies. I just would not eat in the restaurant. Ingesting peanuts or food fried in peanut oil causes my throat and tongue to swell up to the point my air ways are blocked and I would suffocate to death. There are no signs on the doors or windows of the restaurant to inform customers that peanut oil is used. Adults and children can die just waiting in line for a burger.

Does Five Guys offer gluten-free options?
The only products we offer that contain gluten are our buns, hot dogs (Canada only), HP sauce (UK only), and the malt vinegar condiment for our fries. In Canada, our Poutine Gravy condiment also contains gluten. All of our sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs and the veggie sandwich, are available without a bun via our wrap or bowls.

Why does Five Guys have peanuts for free?
Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
What is the best way to reheat leftover fries?
Leftover fries are excellent reheated in the oven (or Air Fryer). According to Chad Murrell, one of the Five Guys, just pop them in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Also, give those leftover fries a try as hash browns, home fries, or even as the filling in an omelet.
