Overall, the dining experience was positive! Service was spectacular and the restaurant itself is well decorated and organized very nicely. In those aspects, my experience was very positive.
As for the food, I got the honey-glazed salmon. I also tried their risotto, and their New York steak. The steak was cooked properly and tasty, but that was the only positive experience I had food-wise. The salmon, seasonal veggies, and rice pilaf were under-seasoned. The risotto was my least favorite part of my meal. Not only was it under-seasoned, but the rice tasted undercooked and was still hard. Maybe that is how it is supposed to taste like, but the risottos I’ve had in the past were fluffy and well-seasoned.
Again, the staff and the restaurant itself were amazing! The food was my issue, and even then the steak tasted good!

Our Server Lily was amazing. Food was great. Portion was perfect.
This was maybe my second or third time dining at Cracked Pepper. My husband and I have been back twice within the last couple of weeks and made reservations for around 4-4:30 when they first open, which we prefer over the dinner experience. There's nothing wrong with the evening service, we just personally enjoy being one of maybe three tables seated.
On our last two visits we ordered the cornbread crusted crab cakes. Please get these as an appetizer! They were cooked perfectly both times, and the flavors from the pickled onions, tangy and savory caper sauce and fresh lemon juice are to die for. I would take these crab cakes over all others from notable seafood restaurants ranging from Fresno to San Francisco. Seriously.
Now for the star of the show.. the chicken piccata. The chicken breast has a perfect golden crispy sear on top, and is tender and juicy throughout. The butter/white wine caper sauce is citrus forward and so delicious I could drink it. The pappardelle noodles are cooked to perfection as well and still hold onto the thick, rich sauce.
The "Farmers daughter" cocktail is also my favorite cocktail that I've had at any fresno restaurant as well. So so so good. Service is fantastic, ambiance is great. We will be back again.
I made a reservation easily online for a party of 5 and we were sat immediately. We had the bone marrow appetizer that came with toasted bread and was very delicious. We also ordered their special for that day which was a Chilean Sea Bass with mashed potatoes (they offer a choice of different sides, but mashed potatoes goes so well with fish so we got the mashed potatoes). We also got the Caesar salad, I believe it was named something different on the menu but don't recall the name. I requested that they add shrimp ( for an additional fee) to the Caesar salad and remove the dates from the Caesar salad. The Caesar salad also comes with chunks of bacon which they put on the side for me. I had the dates removed as I do not like sweet and savory together. However, if that's your thing, have at it. The Chilean sea bass was absolutely delicious along with the shrimp on the Caesar salad. Additionally, I did like the Caesar dressing that they. The rest of the group enjoyed their ribeye and steak that they ordered. We got the vanilla ice cream, but the aftertaste was a bit watery which was weird. All that said, I would definitely like to go back to try the different items on their menu.
