While visiting from out of town, I stopped in for a sandwich. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, I was assisted by an employee named Cecilia. When I asked if Dutch crunch bread was available, she responded dismissively, stating that carrying the Safeway name does not mean every store carries the same items. The interaction continued to be unprofessional as I attempted to order. When I inquired about Swiss cheese, she became visibly frustrated and explained that she was working alone and could not keep up with cutting cheese while managing the register and other duties. When I asked if she was having a bad day due to her tone, she replied, "Whatever," and continued to be confrontational. When I asked to speak with a manager, she identified herself as the manager and accused me of having an attitude, despite my polite interactions with her. Ultimately, I chose to leave without completing my purchase. Regardless of whether the department was understaffed or she was having a difficult day, this was an unacceptable way to treat a customer. I hope this feedback helps improve the service at this location.
