We had an outstanding experience here!
We hosted a lunch party of 35 people here for our wedding!
The entire experience was easy, stress free, and pleasant! Booking the restaurant just required a simple phone call. We looked through their menu and created a custom 3 course meal with 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 sides, 2 desserts, and a drink all for about $65 per person. The restaurant was very accommodating throughout the entire process! They called in the morning to let us know that the place was ready to host us a few hours before we arrived eliminating any worries.
The food was some of the best we've ever had!! The tender jack cutlets were amazingly crispy; the thattukada chicken fry was succulent, crispy, and juicy; the goat chukka tasted like a proper malayali style curry pairing perfectly with the Malabar style porotta and the kallappam; the Malabar black cod was delicious, moist, and perfectly seasoned with a delicious and unique gravy kinda like a combination between a coconut fish curry and avial; the nalli dum was beautifully presented and tasty, and also paired perfectly with the appam, porotta, and ghee rice; the chicken biriyani was delicious with plenty meat, and presented beautifully wrapped in banana leaf; the mango malai ghewar was the crowd favorite dessert with delicious mango puree and a crispy, crunchy base; the elaneer payasam in my opinion was even better with small crunchy apple pieces pairing perfectly with the sweet coconut milk. The jiggerthanda was the best thing I've had in a while. It tasted almost like an adapradhaman payasam we used to get from the nearby temple during onam!!
All the staff were pleasant, patient, and the service was outstanding. At least a few of the staff whom we met are malayalees!
The place is well decorated, has a bar with delicious and unique cocktails with an Indian twist, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic!
The restrooms were clean and well attended although there are only two individual restrooms.
This is a great place to host either a small or large party of about 45 people!!
We had a family dinner in Anantara and the experience was amazing. The menu was carefully curated with several choices across vegetarian, meat, fish and seafood. The food was delicious. We especially loved the chicken fry appetizer, goat curry and Ceylon paratha. The service was also great. Ganesh was our server and he was friendly and hospitable. We had a great time at Anantara and will highly recommend the place to friends and family.

for the price ($100 for 2), the food was mediocre; we did come near closing so couldn’t get the Thali, and the entree prices are honestly ridiculous.
There were leftover plates all over the restaurant, that left the places with flies.
We weren’t asked for the spice level, which made the gravy even less desirable.
Not somewhere i’d go again.

Wow, this place surprised me in the worst way. This is probably my first time disliking a restaurant in the bay area because of its ambience.
I decided to reserve dinner here after seeing the interesting menu options, but the atmosphere was that off of a indian bus-stand hotel. There are more tables put in than should be in the space available, with zero sound proofing. The place echoes like a vegetable market and I couldn't even hear my party sitting on the other side of the table.
The service experience didn't exist outside taking out order and bringing the food. I wouldn't even blame the waiters as they're probably overwhelmed themselves by the amount of people they have to serve in a cramped, dimly let and loud atmosphere. The food was decent, but absolutely not worth what they actually charge for it.
It was more calm and serene on the main road outside the restaurant! I'm still caught up on why this place is highly rated when they don't offer the one thing that you'd expect from an 'upscale' dining experience - the ambience!
This is one of the best meals that I’ve had since moving to California. Each dish is expertly seasoned, prepared, and flavorful.
Some standouts include the crispy cauliflower, biryani, vegetable korma, shrimp curry, and appam to soak up all the sauces. Their chocolate with caramel for dessert was a delicious finisher, and their sake, coconut water, lime and ginger beer cocktail was very refreshing.
I’ll be making a point to come here every time I’m in Fremont.
