- TCTanesha CAug 3, 20261.0I really like this Safeway but unfortunately they ruined a cake I ordered for my dad’s memorial service. I ordered a full sheet cake white cake, strawberry filling, white buttercream frosting. I gave specific details of what I wanted, down to the shade of green writing I wanted. Our colors were green and white. The lady told me I must pay for it right then when I ordered, I had no problem with that but it was the way she said it like I wasn’t going to pay. Fast forward I came to pick up my cake and they covered the cake in chocolate buttercream frosting with lime green writing that looked like a 5 year old wrote on the cake. I asked for a manager he came over, he was very nice and he did refund me my money and still gave me the cake. So fast forward I apologized to everyone letting them know why the frosting was chocolate instead of white only to cut into the cake and the cake was also chocolate, I was so disappointed and felt everything was ruined. To make something that was already a difficult and sad event and I wanted everything to be perfect for my dad’s service and this cake just made it worst.How could you just mess up the entire order, nothing was right except for the strawberries. - SPSue PJul 8, 20264.0It's a good store but someone really needs to train the people working in the deli to slice roast beef, pastrami, etc.. ACROSS the grain! This is the 3rd time I've ordered roast beef and just my luck, each time they had to open a new package. They sliced it, I got home and it was sliced WITH the grain. Long fibers, stringy, chewy... for $19 a pound? NO! Nobody slices meat like that.
