  Customer service has really gone downhill. On Thursday 5/14, we bought tri-tip, but the club price didn’t apply at self-checkout. When my husband asked for help, the clerk questioned whether we even got the meat from the store — even though we had picked it up directly from the meat department clerk. Then again on Sunday 5/17, I purchased the Chips Ahoy promotion (mix and match 3 or more for $1.99 each) for my kids. The club card price didn’t apply, and the self-checkout clerk immediately told me I hadn’t read the tags correctly, even though the tags and my app both reflected the sale. He was so convinced it was my mistake that I just asked him to remove the items instead of doing a simple price check. What makes this especially disappointing is that both my husband and I worked at this Safeway for years as department managers before promoting out of Dewey. We know the level of customer service that store used to provide, and these experiences were frustrating and discouraging.

  I love how because pennies aren't being produced, Safeways' response is to stop accepting cash at their self check out. Gotta be as good for business as locking up their homeopathic medicine and toothpaste. Swear there's some CEO crying in a boardroom about net profits cluelessly.

  The store is clean and very nicely organized. Everything is easy to see when you walk in so you know where to go from the door. The lines aren't usually super long especially later in the evening.

  I had an awful experience with their pharmacy. I’ve purchased syringes here multiple times over the past year for my personal vitamin regimen,completely legal in the U.S. without any issue. Today, I walk in, and not only does the manager refuse to sell them to me, but they claim it’s impossible, acting like I never bought them before and making me look like a fool. When I tried to explain, all I got was a basic, dismissive response with zero effort to help. Absolutely terrible customer service.

  4/14/2026 at approximately 545pm Bakery was called fir assistance. Im thankful that someone from the deli recognized I was waiting. Another family happened to view the cake book and make a decision. When Debbie the baker got back she never acknowledged or asked who was first. Instead she took the order for that family. Although it was disrespectful of that family to not say that I was first, I must say that Debbie wasnt the most pleasant, her tone....All I had was a question, to find out they didn't make a certain size cake in the size I wanted. Which was ok, but all of that waiting and no acknowledgement for her to say " no ..sorry..." no suggestions or anything. Very dry monotone. I reported to manager Korey, very nice person who said he will leave a note for the other manager Tammy. Please rewind your cameras to see this disrespectful act.
