This subway is such an embarrassment to Escalon. I went just a few days ago.. and boy, what a sad experience. First off, the woman attending was quite rude, the older lady. She snapped at me when I asked for sourdough and she said they didn’t have sourdough for over a year, but with an attitude that was obvious,, well excuuuuse me for just asking woman. Then, the worst of this visit was the ridiculous amount turkey she put on the sandwich..well, if you can even call that she put any. It looked like it was cut extremely thin, like shaved deli meat, I’ve never seen this??? I’ve been to other subways for many years and this was the FIRST time I witnessed such stinginess. I was about to leave, but to my misfortune..being on a tight lunch break would not had given me time to go elsewhere. Then,, she wanted me to get one of their stale cookies instead of chips., as if she was wanting to get rid of them.
Sorry to say this, but they should have stayed closed! Why open up??? To give this type of horrible service and negative attitude? Honestly, they are only giving Subway a bad name.. what a shame, and why? Our cute little town of Escalon doesn’t deserve this? If you unfortunately step in this Subway…ASK this older lady to give you the correct amount of meat or just leave and go to Taco Bell..,or anywhere but here… I’m not kidding, it’s horrible eating just dry bread and a few veggies.. rude rude rude..
NEVER returning unless there is new, improved management.
By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a Subway. The employee working tonight was unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional from the second my family walked in. We came in at 8:58 PM while the store hours and website BOTH say they close at 9:30 PM. The doors were unlocked, there was no sign saying they were closed, and instead of simply explaining anything politely, she immediately started yelling, “Hurry up, I’m closed.”
If you want to close early, then LOCK THE DOORS. Don’t leave the business open and then snap at customers for walking in during posted business hours. That is not the customers’ fault. Her attitude was disgusting the entire interaction and she acted like my family was inconveniencing her just by being there.
What pushed this situation over the top was the racist comments and behavior. At one point she said, “I don’t speak your language” in a nasty, mocking tone instead of communicating respectfully like a normal person. The way she treated my family was completely unacceptable and honestly humiliating. You could immediately tell she was making it a race issue.
Nobody should be treated the way we were treated tonight. I have worked in customer service and there is absolutely no excuse for speaking to people this way. If management allows employees to behave like this, then this location has a serious problem. I will absolutely not be returning after the way my family was treated.
