  If you plan on purchasing alcohol with anyone else present—including a minor or someone who simply forgot their wallet, do not come to this Safeway. They enforce an incredibly strict group ID policy here. An older blonde woman that was my cashier was incredibly rude and confrontational. When I explained I just didn't bring my wallet inside, she kept badgering me and repeatedly asking if I wasn't 21. There is a way to state store policy without interrogating and disrespecting paying customers. I did report this experience to the manager but still want to share my experience here.

  I ended up having my order for pickup there was a 15.00 off 50 coupon then a $5 off of $40 and with sale prices Safeway was a bargain today I like their Store everything's nice and neat and clean and the shows are stocked and stacked nicely

  If I could give Safeway 0 stars, I would. I purchased a bouquet of red roses as a surprise gift for my girlfriend. After I had already paid for the flowers, I continued shopping for a few other items. At checkout, the cashier asked to see my ID and the receipt for the flowers, even though they had already been purchased. The interaction left me feeling singled out and embarrassed. As a Mexican customer in a predominantly white community, I couldn’t help but wonder whether I was being treated differently because of my ethnicity. I understand that stores have policies to prevent theft, but those policies should be applied consistently and respectfully to every customer. I hope Safeway reviews how these situations are handled so that all customers feel welcomed and treated fairly

  Just went into Safeway to purchase a bottle of wine for my dad for Father’s Day. Ran into a friend while shopping and was in line with them, not together, and not buying items together. The “manager” Tania asked us if we were together and asked to see her ID, my friend said no we weren’t together and also did not have her ID on her. Tania proceeded to berate us and deny me purchasing the wine. My biggest issue with the interaction was Tania’s rude and unfriendly customer service. As someone with extensive grocery management background, how she handled the situation was tacky and unprofessional. I have been shopping here for over thirty years and will not be returning.

  I go here very often and I have noticed that the service here has improved greatly.Items are priced very well and easy to find.Today,Tania at customer service was ridiculously helpful with my transaction and went above and beyond to help.Yair at checkout was also very helpful.I wish the self checkout would take cash though.
