- OOOGJun 12, 20261.0Surprisingly unfriendly staff. When you walk into the store, you instinctively smile and even say hello, but instead of any acknowledgment, they simply turn their heads away. It feels unpleasant just to walk in, let alone spend your money there. I certainly wouldn’t want to make a purchase after being treated that way.

Or even get a demerit or whatever happens these days. I'm a senior. Don't get out much. But I'm polite, cheerful, and don't ask for anything special. He was very helpful when I asked if there were any white KitKats in stock (there weren't. ) It was downhill from there! I cracked a joke, and another, just to lighten the mood cause he looked unhappy. Nothing. No eye contact, no smile, no thank you when I was leaving, no have a nice day. I live in West Oakland and our cashiers are WAY nicer at our PAC N SAV (SAFEWAY) and believe you me they have a WAY harder day than you guys do here in Corte Madera! Drunks, spaced out folks, most people counting coins, food stamps, entire families, crying babies, dogs, seniors, disabled people and not enough motorized carts, it goes on and on and Mr pouty face shouldn't be doing this job if he hates it so much. He bummed out my day. I'm going to eat some ice cream. Hire nicer people Safeway!!!!
