  ​The Food and Atmosphere Are Gems, but the Service Still Lags ​I have been to Gulab Indian Bistro about 15 times now, and my feelings remain exactly the same: the kitchen and the designers are doing everything right, but the front-of-house service is consistently a struggle. ​The Good: The food and drinks are truly excellent every single time. It is easily some of the best Indian cuisine in the area. The flavors are authentic, the quality is high, and the drinks never disappoint. On top of that, the decor is amazing—it’s a beautiful, well-designed space that creates a great initial vibe for a meal. ​The Bad: Unfortunately, the service is consistently poor and hasn't improved across my many visits. The waiters rarely, if ever, check back on the table once the food is dropped off. Water glasses frequently sit empty for the duration of the meal, and I have yet to have a visit where I didn’t have to "hunt someone down" just to get the check so I could leave. ​Final Verdict: I keep coming back because the food and atmosphere are so good, but you have to go in with the expectation that you'll be managing your own service. If they could bridge the gap between the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff, this would easily be a 5-star spot.

  Karan was a great server, polite and attentive. We had the Cholay bhature. This was large enough for two people and tasty. We also ordered butter chicken and pineapple fish curry. Both were good, although the fish had a lot of sauce and not much meat.

  Unacceptable experience. We were told the chef was leaving and most menu items were unavailable, and being told to “come earlier” was not appropriate. If the chef is not available, the restaurant should set its timings according to staff availability instead of misleading customers.

  Very poor experience. I visited with my family around 9:30 pm, but despite a 10 pm closing time, we were told the chef was leaving and many items on the menu were not available. Being told we “should have come earlier” was quite unprofessional. The shahi paneer was watery and lacked flavor. Although the front staff were courteous, the overall experience was disappointing. If service ends earlier than the stated time, it should be clearly communicated.

  I went there for dinner and ordered the food. The closing time is 10pm and they said the chef had to leave at 9:30. There were few tables which were occupied but there were no chefs in case they wanted to order something more. We ordered shahi paneer, mix veg and some breads. Shahi paneer and mix veg tasted so bland there was no taste. We also ordered raita and salad that never came to our table. It was such a bad experience. Service was good though. But the food was such a bad experience. I will never go to this place again. If you can’t serve your customers till your closing time then please change your timing to the chef’s comfort.
