  I had wonderful experience while shopping at my local Vons Store 2071. I met and had a pleasant conversation with Charles Gassi as he scanned my groceries for check out. Charles is very kind and personable, as well as a diligent employee. Vons is lucky to have such a valuable employee working in the customer service arena. I'll be looking for him the next time I check out!

  Shopping at this store has been the worst experience of my life; the staff are neither professional nor ethical, and the way they treat customers is appalling. Every single employee there definitely needs to take an intensive customer service course, because they haven't the faintest idea how to ensure a positive shopping experience that would make customers want to come back. 👎🏻

  [ Severe Staff Misconduct and Physical Intimidation at this Location ] Rating: 0/5 Stars I am writing this to alert both management and future patrons about a serious safety and customer service issue at this location. On [june 20, 26], I visited the store as a paying customer and approached a staff member with a basic inquiry regarding product pricing and the listed discount for members not appearing at checkout(bait and switch pricing?) [for 2 tubs of ice cream listed as 2.99 with member card, have bought this very often and as recently as 24 hours prior and the discount worked every time upon entering member number]. Instead of receiving professional customer service, I was met with first 0 effort service that did nothing to answer my concern or fix the issue I was having and extreme hostility. The employee—a very large male staff member—refused to answer the question, provided a completely zero-effort response, and intentionally used his physical size to stand over me in an overt attempt at intimidation. When I refused to be intimidated and called out his unprofessionalism, his aggressive posture created a chaotic scene that disrupted the entire front of the store.A giant employee physically looming over customers to avoid doing their job is a massive corporate liability and a major safety concern. And a hysterical supervisor already on the phone shouting are major concerns and proof that staff is undertrained if at all, and have 0 skills for handling conflict and deescalating. Not only that but 2 people unrelated to the exchange were my disabled sister and senior mother who were harrassed and humiliated as they left the store and verbally abused by staff even though they had been uninvolved and only because she gave me my card to pay with that they knew we're connected to me, breaking all usual behavioral protocols and procedures, not to mention she was already on the phone screaming hysterically presumably with 911 with a gross misuse of the service when taking into account that is entirely calm and within the law in my behavior, I was never approached by a staff member or manager at all not even to be told that my transaction was cancelled or that I had to leave, so the store was still actively participating in a sale transaction while verbally abusing their customers and calling the cops on them with 0 valid reason...(Handling things completely inappropriately and skipping steps)... While wasting the time of emergency services unnecessarily. All in all, horrible look for the company when these people are representing you and extremely upsetting and humiliating for it's customers. I have already bypassed local management and escalated this incident directly to the corporate office, who deeply apologized and confirmed that such behavior is unacceptable and that a formal HR investigation is underway regarding the staff involved. However, until this location implements actual communication and de-escalation training for its frontline workers, I highly recommend customers avoid this store. These people are unhinged watch out for a heavy set curly haired large man and a short hysterical looking blonde supervisor.

  I had one of the most unpleasant pharmacy experiences I’ve ever had at this Vons location. I came in about an hour before closing with a scheduled appointment for a flu shot and vaccine booster, and I was friendly and polite the entire time. Despite that, the two pharmacists working that evening (a Black woman with glasses who appeared to be in her 40s and an older White man who appeared to be in his 50s ) were incredibly condescending, short, and dismissive, acting as if my scheduled appointment was an inconvenience to them. I even tried making small talk during the shots to ease the awkwardness, and the pharmacist responded with such cold, irritated energy that it honestly made the whole interaction feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. There was no warmth, no professionalism, and no basic courtesy. I understand people have long workdays, but taking that frustration out on customers who are simply showing up for a scheduled vaccine appointment is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend going to the Vons Pharmacy in Otay Ranch instead of patronizing this location if this is the standard of service here. By contrast, the pharmacists at the Vons Pharmacy in Otay Ranch have always been incredibly friendly, kind, patient, and professional. They have great bedside manner and make the whole experience feel comfortable instead of making you feel like you’re inconveniencing them.
