I visited my local Safeway to buy ingredients for a simple root beer float: one bottle of root beer and some vanilla ice cream.
When I checked out, the root beer rang up as $10, even though it had been stocked directly above a price tag showing $5.99. Since my total came out to nearly $18 for just two items, I asked a nearby employee to remove the root beer from my purchase.
Instead of simply helping, the employee (a large white male) repeatedly insisted that I had been looking at the yellow member-price tag and explained this to me multiple times in an increasingly irritated tone. I told him that was not the issue, but he continued repeating himself as if I had misunderstood something obvious.
After the item was removed, I went back to the shelf, took a photo, and returned to show him. Only then did he explain that the $5.99 tag was actually for a 7-pack of cans, even though the 10-pack had been stocked directly above that tag. In other words, the display itself was misleading.
What frustrated me most was not the pricing mistake, but the way I was treated. Rather than listening to my concern, the employee spoke to me in a condescending manner and made me feel embarrassed over an issue caused by incorrect shelf placement.
After reading other reviews, I noticed that another customer described a similar negative experience with the same employee, which suggests this may not be an isolated incident.
Customers should be treated with respect, especially when the store’s own labeling is confusing. This experience left me feeling humiliated, and I expect better customer service from Safeway.

safeway muy bien como siempre en cuestion de productos pero hay que pagar precios por arriba de las demas tiendas de autoservicio, los cajeros super lentos y sirmpre platicando con ciertos clientes o amigos sin importarles la fila que esta en espera!
