- DHdan hOct 2, 20262.0I was signed into their app when I left home because I was clipping coupons and checking availability. When I got to the store, I was in the middle of my shopping and had just read a barcode when suddenly I was kicked out of the app and required to log back in from a screen I had never seen before. I went up front to ask the manager about this (she was working the self-checkout lane) and she told me that the app just does this once in a while. After I had verified that I was not being asked to sign into a 3rd party app, their app kept malfunctioning. after a few unsuccessful attempts, the manager asked to see my phone, then went into the apps setting and **started making changes without asking me if it was ok**. She then exited where she had made the change. Fortunately, I was able to retrace where she had gone and verify the change. Besides the fact that ONE SHOULD NEVER MAKE CHANGES TO THE SETTINGS OF SOMEONE'S PHONE WITHOUT ASKING IF IT IS OK, the change didn't fix anything. She finally said to just exit the app and restart it. What is this, a Windows app? As I was finishing my shopping trip, I needed a battery from the locked case. After I got her attention to open the case, she told me that I could get the battery when I checked out at "lane 3." It is bad enough to have to wait around for someone to come unlock a case for a battery, but then to not let me have it, and tell me I could get it at a checkout lane is simply insulting. I am a relateively new shopper with Safeway. It is not a very welcoming experience for a new customer to be treated as if I am going to steal a battery when I have already done shopping and had several itmes in my cart. Come on Safeway, you can be more friendly than that!

I suggest the Bel-Air across the street way very pleasant staff
