  I was unaware that vons and Shaw's are one and the same! Anyways, good savings (especially of using the app) and great staff. I made an accidental purchase of the wrong laundry product and the staff were extremely helpful to help with an exchange. Store is clean and well-lit. Will be back! Only thing that has been disappointing: they carry a cheese I love here (Cabot wickedly habanero) but the last few times I've been, it hasn't been restocked. I'd love to see more of this on the shelves!

  I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from the Vons location in Carlsbad. My boyfriend and I personally visited the store two days ago to place a catering order for a pinwheel tray and a fruit tray for an event where I work. We completed the order form in person and asked whether we needed to pay at that time. We were told that payment would be collected when we picked up the order. The following day, we arrived approximately 40 minutes after the scheduled 11:00 a.m. pickup time, so the order should have been more than ready. However, the employee working in the department initially told us there were no orders for that day. He then said he only had two orders, one for Andrea and one under (my last name) . After finally locating my order, he admitted that he had not prepared it and said it would take another hour to make. What made this experience even worse was his attitude. He was not apologetic and showed no concern that the store’s mistake had disrupted an event for which I was responsible. Because I could not wait another hour, I had to quickly purchase fruit and deviled eggs and then go to another store to find additional food. This caused unnecessary stress, delays, and completely disrupted the plans I had made for the event. My boyfriend later returned to speak with management, hoping they would at least acknowledge what happened and offer a reasonable solution. Instead, we felt as though our account was not believed. We received no meaningful apology, explanation, solution, or compensation. Mistakes happen, but the complete lack of accountability, empathy, and customer service was unacceptable. We followed the store’s ordering process exactly, and the order form was clearly there. The store simply failed to prepare it. I would like this incident reviewed by store management and would appreciate a direct response explaining how Vons intends to address this situation.

  I used to dread going to the deli counter. It usually takes FOREVER to get any kind of service there. Almost like there was nobody there. I went to the deli today, at Store 2146, in Carlsbad. There's Rudy, who works behind the counter-- HE GAVE ME THE FASTEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED THERE!! Shout out to you, Rudy. You deserve a medal.....

  Very limited inventory and brands on the shelves. Homeless patrons frequent the store and loiter in front. The store was forced to install automated gates to let customers in but route through the check stand to exit.
