  9th September went for dinner and ordered Wednesday wine flight, in one of the glasses of wine there were three flies which we noticed after few minutes of serving. We notified our server and she gave us another glass. Not even a word of apology or looked into as where it got from. I am concerned about food safety issues at this restaurant. Where there will be three big flies in the food. We ate other food and now that makes me think of that also had some insect contamination. There was no action or word of concern shown by the staff. Very disappointed with it.

  We had the Tuna Tartar & Beets for our appetizers. Both were tasty with an interesting and complimentary mix of flavors. The texture difference with Tuna Tartar added to the experience. For the main dish we had the Pera pizza. Interesting and delightful combination of flavors. It was delicious, but I would say that about everything we ordered. Great selection of beers on tap and the drinks were also good.

  We had a pretty disappointing experience at Doppio Zero, especially considering the price point. We started with the complimentary bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. I was still eating the bread, with another piece remaining in the basket, when our server took the entire basket away, along with the olive oil and balsamic that I was still using. It felt rushed and inattentive. The pizza itself was also disappointing. To be fair, the flavor and toppings were very good, but the execution was not. The pizza was extremely soggy and soft, with almost no structure to the crust. Eating a slice honestly felt more like holding a soft tortilla or taco with pizza toppings than eating a properly baked pizza. Even more frustrating was how the toppings were distributed. Almost everything was concentrated near the tip of each slice. After the first couple of bites, the remaining three-fourths of the slice was basically just plain dough. The service issue continued at the end of the meal. We had two slices left and asked to have them packed to go. By that point, our table had spilled cheese sauce, chili oil, and olive oil on it. When the server brought the to-go box back, she placed it directly on top of the dirty, oily table, leaving the bottom of the box covered in oil and cheese sauce. We now had to handle and carry around a greasy, dirty box. This is such an easily avoidable thing and showed a surprising lack of attention to detail. I wouldn’t have the same expectations at a food truck or a very casual establishment, but Doppio Zero is a proper sit-down restaurant charging relatively premium prices for pizza. At that price point, I expect a basic level of attentiveness—don’t take food away while someone is still eating it, don’t serve a soggy pizza that’s mostly bare dough, and don’t put a customer’s packaged food directly into spilled sauce and oil. The flavors showed that the food has potential, but the execution and service really need more attention. For what we paid, this experience simply didn’t feel worth it.

  First impressions are so important and Doppio Campbell blew it. Seated inside, several tables seated after us ordered and had food on the table before our order was taken. Ordered a few appetizers and a main pasta. Appetizers came relatively quick. Tuna Tartar was not bad, but Burrata was a bit dry. Pasta never arrived. A shame to go to a restaurant known for their pasta and pizza and not get a chance to try their main dishes. And leaving hungry from a restaurant kind of sucks. Will not be back and would not recommend based on this experience.

  Came in on a thursday evening because we were craving authentic pizza and this place was perfect. I was worried we wouldn’t get a table walking in because it seemed busy but we were immediately sat. We are visiting from Maryland and found this place on apple maps because we aren’t familiar with the area but i’m so happy we did. Our server Miguel was AMAZING. He was so friendly and made us feel so welcomed and gave us some really good recommendations around the area. We really enjoyed his service and talking to him in general. The food and drinks were fantastic. The pizza was exactly what we were looking for and we will definitely be back and hope that Miguel will be working again too!
