On delivery! I had coupon for free my mochi my order was delivery it was 2 orders ago I got notice saying order would be here at 2:26 then it changed to 2: 42 he ended up getting here at 3:05 I had 2 Haagan Das ice cream as well as mochi the ice cream was very soft when received I put in freezer right away then I saved the mochi for an evening. that I had a little social gathering with some friends to share opened it up a social and picture shows you how it looked when I saw he extended his time I looked on tracking he was down in the old town area not close to me now I only live a couple of minutes from store and always get a message from you to always put any frozen or refrigerated items away with in 1 hour but he took over 40 minutes to get here. Good thing it was free. Here's the picture of what I received. Needless to say I could not share with my friends.
I recently visited this new Vons location and was very impressed. The store is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The wide aisles make shopping comfortable and easy, even during busier times.
Everything looks fresh, well-organized, and fully stocked. The produce, bakery, and deli departments are especially attractive and inviting. The overall atmosphere is bright, modern, and welcoming.
It's clear that a lot of attention was given to creating a pleasant shopping experience. This is one of the nicest grocery stores I've visited, and I'm looking forward to shopping here regularly. Great job to the entire team!
I stopped by the Starbucks inside Vons on my birthday and decided to treat myself to a Green Tea Frappuccino, something I rarely buy for myself.
When I picked up my drink, I noticed it had a flat lid instead of the usual domed lid. When I asked about it, the employee told me they were out of whipped cream, so he had topped my Frappuccino with foam instead.
Foam. On a Frappuccino.
I explained that it was my birthday and this was a special treat. When I asked for it to be remade, he simply scooped the foam off and added whipped cream. By then, the drink had already started melting. A blended drink topped with warm foam is no longer the drink I ordered. He then remade my drink, and to my surprise pulls out a canister of whipped cream from the refrigerator! To top it all off, I had just been lied to about being out of whipped cream. Like why?! He wasn't busy, no one was waiting for drinks and no one ordering anything at that time.
What really disappointed me was his attitude. After I explained that I wanted the drink remade properly, he looked surprised and said, "Oh, you're serious? You really want me to remake it for you?"
Yes. If I'm paying Starbucks prices, I expect the drink I ordered—not a substitute that ruins it and an employee who acts like I'm being unreasonable for asking it to be made correctly.
A disappointing experience made worse by poor customer service, especially on my birthday.

A Digital Headache: Why the Vons App is Failing Its Customers
If the goal of the Vons mobile app is to drive customer loyalty, it is spectacularly failing. Since the merger with Albertsons, the digital experience has devolved from a useful tool into a source of constant frustration. This isn't "convenience"—it’s a calculated exercise in customer attrition.
The Technical Failure
The app is a masterclass in instability. It is plagued by constant crashes that make simple tasks like building a grocery list a chore. Even worse, the security protocols (or lack thereof) are absurd; expecting users to log in every 15 minutes is a relic of poor development, not a security feature.
To make matters worse, Vons provides no functional in-store WiFi, effectively trapping users in a dead zone where they are forced to rely on their own data to navigate a broken, crashing application while trying to find items on their list.
Inventory, Substitution, and Bait-and-Switch Tactics
The most insulting aspect of the experience is the absolute lack of integrity regarding inventory and pricing:
Inventory Inaccuracy: The "in-store inventory" feature is essentially a work of fiction. Relying on it for a shopping trip is a recipe for wasted time.
Predatory Substitutions: When items are out of stock, the "substitution" process is a glaring bait-and-switch. The app consistently substitutes off-ad items that carry a higher price point.
Deal Destruction: These forced substitutions effectively ruin "4 for $4" (or similar) promotional deals. When the app swaps your sale item for a full-price alternative, the final bill creeps upward in a way that feels intentional.
Digital Coupons: Access Denied
If you are going to force customers to "clip" digital coupons to receive the advertised price, you have an ethical obligation to ensure the platform actually works. Expecting customers to navigate a buggy, crashing interface just to get the price listed on the shelf is unacceptable. Using "tech issues" as a convenient mask for what is clearly an upcharging strategy is not just poor service—it’s dishonest.
Bottom line: This app is a digital barrier between the customer and their groceries. Until the underlying infrastructure is fixed, the "convenience" of the Vons app is nothing more than a myth.
How have these issues impacted your overall shopping habits at Vons lately—are you finding yourself moving more of your grocery trips to other stores?
