  Went through the drive-thru earlier this afternoon for lunch and picked up a couple of burritos. Jennifer was incredibly helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with. I hadn’t been to an El Pollo Loco in years. Trusted her recommendation on the burritos and they did not disappoint. I’d come back just based off of my experience with Jennifer alone.

  It was my first time visiting any El Pollo Loco & I always heard great things about the taste & quality of the food. I ordered a double chicken bowl for takeout. The restaurant's overhead lighting was unusually dark (so dark, in fact, that I initially thought the interior was closed & only the drive-through was open) & I regret not inspecting my food before leaving partly because of this. After getting home, I found that my "double chicken" bowl was predominantly rice & beans. The chicken was seasoned well but there was only about a tablespoon. There was a nickel-sized squirt of runny sour cream along the edge of the bowl in the middle section & four (4) tiny pieces of tomato "salsa fresca." It is highly disappointing, and unacceptable, to cut such extreme corners by skimping on toppings with to-go orders. Your customers are at your mercy here because many of us-myself included-don't inspect our food before as it's already bagged & covered. If I wanted rice & beans, I certainly could've gotten that as a side or at another establishment for less than what I paid here for a grossly misleading menu item.

  This is the second time that I paid for an food item and never received it. I tried to call in but no one picked up the phone.i drove 8 miles to the store just to meet the unprofessional, rude,disrespectful and unapologetic manager regarding the incident.
