This place is amazing. Best burger I’ve had in a long time. Wife loved the fish and chips and my boys never finish their chicken strips but these were different. The chicken strips are so good. I’ll be back very often! Thanks

Best bbq in Big Bear Valley hands down. They are the most accommodating and nothing beats their sausage or brisket. They are so kind and friendly always. Honestly if u order online or in person they are just the best people to interact with. Thank u guys for the best service❤️

Rating them off a burger I ordered , it was meh. In their defense they are a place that specializes in bbq, but still I expected better . I was super hungry so just ate it but it was very salty and pan fried and didn’t have that good juicy burger taste. I could have done better cooking a burger at my vacation rental with crappy pans but buying buns and condiments are a pain hence I got one from here on the way back . I’d avoid this place for their burgers and stick to bbq only , they probably should remove it from the menu or not have google list them as a place that has burgers. Very sad off the 18 bucks I spent 🥹 Steak fries although were very good , crispy and filling 👌🏼. I wasn’t in the mood for bbq but from reviews it looks good .
Take out or eat outside only which works for me!

We had a mix of hamburgers and brisket. Potato salad tasted homemade. The cornbread was also excellent. Everything was delicious. Location is behind the elks lodge, walk up on the right side of the building.
Casual eating area with picnic tables, some shade, looks like a dog friendly patio. We took the food to go-would definitely eat there again if we are back in Big Bear. Had leftovers from the BBQ.

I remember coming to big bear in june and initially, i wanted to go to that steakhouse until i saw the prices lol. I was like- im gonna head there just for special ocassion. Googled, and saw cookshak. Thought it was closed and shady lol. And thank god i changed my mind. Met the owners and my boyfriend and my son liked the food so much especially their unbeatable brisket. Gave us complimentary chicken (wish it was the brisket again lol). Ive never had brisket in my life. It’s an hour and a half drive from my place. I tried to look for a brisket when i visited SD, it was okay. Tried one in rancho cucamonga, it was soft, yes, tasty? Meh. Cookshak has set my standards for brisket. Tasty. Literally divine. So im heading there on the 29th for my clinical training and teaching and im definitely stopping by to grab as much brisket as i can to bring home.
Your brisket is absolutely delicious.
Hopefully the restaurant that the owner shared to me is already on progress. ❤️ see you in two weeks 🥳
