  Mastro's Beverly Hills sits on Canon Drive a short walk from Rodeo Drive and the whole operation runs with the kind of polished, high-energy confidence that matches its zip code exactly. The main dining room downstairs is dark and intimate in the best old-school steakhouse way, while upstairs the bar scene runs louder and livelier, and the Penthouse on the third floor adds an outdoor terrace with Canon Drive views and a strolling violinist on weekends. Live music happens every single night across the property, which is either a dealmaker or just ambient warmth depending on how you feel about it. Here it mostly works. The New York strip is the dish regulars keep coming back to, a well-marbled, properly seared cut with that beefy depth that confirms why the kitchen focuses on beef above everything else. The filet mignon is the other consistent order, particularly for those who want something more delicate, and it delivers without any drama. The warm butter cake is the dessert this place is genuinely famous for, a lightly crispy exterior giving way to a molten, buttery center served warm with vanilla ice cream on the side. It's indulgent and not subtle about it and worth every calorie. The lobster bisque as a starter is rich and properly seasoned, the kind of bisque that makes you slow down rather than rush through it. The garlic mashed potatoes are the side worth adding to the table, smooth and deeply savory and the obvious pairing for any of the steaks. The Mambo Caesar salad gets mentioned consistently and it earns the attention, tableside-prepared with a dressing that has a good anchovy-forward backbone. The bread basket is one of those small details the kitchen doesn't phone in, buttery and warm and gone too quickly.

  Two meals ordered for pick up. Specifically asked for flatware in the order. None were included. I asked for some and were given individual packages of the most inappropriate disposable type one could be offered for an upscale restaurant. Very disappointing.

  Absolutely the best ribeye in the USA! Been to many steakhouses including Peter Luger in New Jersey.. all mastro is not equal .. this one flagships is really amazing.. I love the penthouse .. it is less noisy and more spacious.. coming here on Sunday early evening, I get the best service! Love that they start the new service where the chef performs at our table! Chris was wonderful and funny.

  First time eating here. We celebrated my husband's birthday! It was an amazing experience, the food, service, and live music was perfection! The menus were personalized with my husbands name, wrapped with a bow, and given to us as keepsakes. The restaurant even called the next day to ask us about our experience. If you want to celebrate a special occasion or just go there to enjoy a meal, honey, this is it, Mastros Steakhouse is a win. If you dont know, now you know!!!
