- SHSydney HellerJun 27, 20265.0As a grocery store - it's what you would expect: it's a big box company (owned by Safeway, so with Safeway brands) but with a little (not Berkeley Bowl level) more focus on local products. They also have samplers relatively often (I don't know the schedule). This would be enough for us to come here. I would give this 6 stars if I could because of the staff and management though. An anecdote to demonstrate why: I went with my 3 kids on a Saturday morning to grab some quick groceries. There are a decent amount of screaming and chaos caused by us. An employee approached us and asked if my kids wanted balloons - "YES!". She gave me the courteous parental approval look: "Is that ok?". I nodded and we kept shopping. She met up with us again at the checkout counter and gave my ecstatic kids their balloons. One of my sons was so excited, he let go and his balloon floated to the ceiling (maybe 25 ft). One of the gentlemen at the checkout counter said he can help, left momentarily, and came back with a step ladder and a grabber. He went up to the second stair but couldn't quite reach the balloon. He was clearly uncomfortable going any higher, but his coworker offered to hold the ladder steady, so the first guy got on the top step, on his tippy toes and just barely was able to grab the very end of the string (swaying in the wind of the AC) and bring the balloon down to my distraught child. The staff is wonderful and kind. This is our store and we love it.
