Established in 2019, Azusa is the second location of Lajamaya Salvadorean Restaurant, owned by Ruth, who was born in El Salvador and came to the U.S. in the 1980s. Inspired by her mother, a restaurant owner, Ruth learned to cook at a young age. She later worked as an accountant for 12 years and in quality control for the health department, gaining valuable insight into food production. With her husband, she opened Lajamaya, serving the traditional recipes she grew up with. Today, the family-run business continues to thrive, with Ruth partnering alongside her husband and their two sons.
