Disappointing service, oily food, and no sense of responsibility. Very disappointed with the service at Pista House on Pioneer Blvd, Artesia. Our food delivery was delayed by more than an hour. The food that was supposed to be delivered by 6:40 PM arrived at 8:00 PM, and despite calling multiple times, the owner did not pick up the phone. When the food finally arrived, oil was literally floating on the curries. On top of that, no chutney was provided with the punugulu and pakora. The delivery person also forgot to bring the dahi vada, so I had to go through the whole calling process again before it was finally delivered. When I asked about the missing chutney, the delivery person had no clue about it — and honestly, I don’t blame him because he’s just the delivery person doing his job. Overall, very poor management, lack of communication, and disappointing food quality. Definitely not the experience we expected.

We liked the spicy biryanis at this place the first time we tried this place, but that was on Sunday. This time, we picked up Biryani and couple of desserts from this place on a Saturday afternoon. The Paneer biryani had fragments of chicken and it looked stale. The two desserts we got were Gulab Jamun and Carrot Halwa. We threw them away immediately after the first bite. There's something really bad about the taste and felt like we will fall sick immediately after. The Mango Lassi from the fridge was good. No level of good customer service makes up for Bad quality food. If the food is not apt for consumption, they should just take it off the menu for the day. We travel far to get good Indian food and end up disappointed with such bad experiences.

Very disappointing – does not live up to the Pista House name We stopped here after a long day at Disneyland, expecting something close to the usual Pista House experience—but this was far from it. The place itself is small and doesn’t have the typical vibe. It was empty too, though it was a Tuesday evening, so that part was understandable. We ordered the Nizami Chicken Biryani and Mutton Haleem. Biryani: Nothing outright wrong, but the spice level was extreme. We enjoy spicy food, but this was overpowering to the point where it burned the mouth. The chicken quantity was good, but we could barely eat much beyond a few bites because of the heat. Haleem (with Chicken 65 & egg): Honestly, the worst haleem I’ve had outside India. The Chicken 65 was extremely spicy in a bad way—like it was coated in raw chili powder—and had a chewy, rubbery texture. It didn’t taste fresh at all, and there was a clear aftertaste of reused or stale oil, like it had been refried before serving. The fried onions on top of the haleem had the same issue—tasted old, like pre-made or reused. The haleem itself was overly spicy but lacked real flavor. We barely managed 3–4 spoons before giving up. This wasn’t just “too spicy”—it was bad spice, bad flavor, and poor quality overall. Overall experience: Very poor. The hygiene was concerning—the restaurant didn’t feel clean, and the staff were moving between kitchen and front without proper presentation. The bathrooms were especially bad—so unpleasant that my partner couldn’t even use them. No water was served; we had to get it ourselves. We ended up wasting most of the food and left with burning mouths and discomfort. My partner had stomach issues through the night and into the morning. For context—we’re from Hyderabad and Kerala, we know and love spicy food. This wasn’t about spice tolerance. This was poor quality food, badly executed. This place does not live up to the Pista House name at all. One of the worst dining experiences we’ve had and the worst dollars spent.

Save your money and your dignity. We walked in and were treated like an inconvenience rather than customers. The staff was incredibly rude, rolling their eyes at basic questions and acting like they were doing us a massive favor by letting us sit down. As for the food, "mediocre" would be a compliment. The paneer I ordered was rubbery, the spices and sauces were not even tossed properly. It’s rare to find a place that manages to combine such terrible attitudes with such forgettable cooking. I won’t be back, and I suggest you stay far away too.

I visited this restaurant based on a strong recommendation from a friend, but unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the expectations. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, but the quality and preparation were not what I expected from a place with this reputation. More importantly, the customer service was disappointing. The staff appeared unhappy and lacked a welcoming or helpful attitude when I tried to communicate what I needed. A positive atmosphere makes a huge difference in dining, and it was missing here. Additionally, I was frustrated to find a 3% credit card surcharge added to my bill without any prior notice. There were no signs posted, and the staff did not inform me beforehand. It is unprofessional to apply extra fees without transparency; customers should be notified of these charges before they pay. Between the service and the hidden fees, I was disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve their communication and hospitality.
