  I don't know how this place doesn't have 5 stars. The buffet was diverse and delicious. The Cast members were just as nice and welcoming here as in the parks. 10/10 experience.

  Storytellers Cafe is a character dining buffet located inside Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, offering breakfast, brunch, and dinner alongside visits from classic Disney characters. The restaurant has a warm, rustic lodge-inspired interior that feels more relaxed than dining inside the parks, making it an easy place to take a break while still keeping the Disney atmosphere. The biggest draw is the character interactions, with characters making their way around the dining room for photos and greetings throughout the meal, making it especially appealing for families with young children. The buffet offers a wide variety of options, ranging from carved meats, seafood, salads, and comfort foods to classic breakfast favorites depending on the meal service. There is enough variety that most people should be able to find something they enjoy, and the food is consistently prepared, but nothing I tried really stood out as particularly memorable. It was a perfectly decent buffet, though I wouldn't consider it a destination based on the food alone. The overall experience is what makes Storytellers Cafe worthwhile. The character interactions are well organized without feeling rushed, and the staff do a good job keeping drinks filled and clearing plates despite the busy dining room. Reservations are highly recommended since popular meal times can fill up well in advance, especially for the character dining experiences. Overall, Storytellers Cafe is more about the experience than the food. The buffet is solid but fairly average, and I wouldn't recommend going out of your way if you're simply looking for a great meal. However, for families or anyone wanting a relaxed Disney character dining experience outside the parks, it offers a fun atmosphere and memorable interactions that make it worth considering.

  Ok honestly, this character brunch was just amazing. Characters moved well front table to table, energetic and attentive. Service also was very on top of plate removal and answered question. Jamie our server was great. Also buffet choices were excellent, chefs would make any eggs or other food to order and attentive about food allergies.

  I didn’t expect that after a weeklong stay in Disneyland that The Storytellers Cafe would have the best food and service of the entire trip. Imagine that — a buffet has better service and is overall a more pleasant experience than restaurants like Carthay’s Circle. But it’s true. Our server, Tiffany, was attentive, kind, and accommodating. The food was fresh, and there was plenty of variety to please any palette. The characters also made multiple rounds, and I feel like I even made friends with Clarabelle Cow. Highly recommend this restaurant — especially if you have a birthday! FYI - the table service restaurants give you NOTHING for your birthday, no cupcake, no song, nothing. So I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to feel special while celebrating any occasion.

  We had a wonderful time at storytellers Cafe! The food was excellent! It is a buffet style. We intentionally chose brunch to increase food options for our party, because we have a picky eater. Our cast members were amazing and helping us when we couldn't find something on the buffet. It was a wonderful experience. I strongly encourage getting a reservation. If you have anyone with a sound sensitivity, definitely have them where they're noise reducing headphones. It was louder than I thought it would be. The sound did vary from time to time depending on the amount of people who were there. In addition, whenever Mickey and the gang exit for a brief break, there is music that plays and hand clapping that you can participate in. This was an excellent experience for my daughter. She was so excited that the characters came right up to her and interacted with her. Strongly recommend!
