We had a wonderful time at Napa Rose, food was delicious. It is well worth the price as the service and experience was exceptional. Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed.
Food: 3/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Portion to Price: 1/5
Overall: This was a go to before but with menu now changing to prefixe it's a bit of a price hike. I'll consider somewhere else.
The extended review...
Food: 3/5 - We had a 4 course meal with an amuse but I'd say that only one of the dishes really stood out. They did a really good job with the second course (Sorpresine Pasta) which was very rich but so tasty. The other dishes were pretty standard fare compared to other fine dining or mid-range establishments.
Service: 5/5 - Awesome waitstaff who were very attentive.
Ambiance: 5/5 - A wonderful setting and nice to have a sit down dinner to relax especially if you are taking a break from the park.
Portion to Price: 1/5 - $188 a pop which is almost double what it was previously with ala carte.

First, avoid this restaurant.
We have been there for dinner many times before the refurbishment. It was truly fantastic back then, but not any more.
It’s beautiful inside, and out on the new patio, and our server (they call him a table captain , I think) was very nice, BUT…..we went there for a great dinner and it was a disaster.
The almost $200.00 per person price-fix menu had very few items that appealed to us. They do not post the menu on their website, so there is no way to know if you’ll appreciate the offerings beforehand. If you cancel your reservation less than 48 hours ahead of time they charge your credit card the full price for your dinner anyway.
IF YOU DON’T EAT DINNER THERE YOU STILL PAY THE $188.00 PER PERSON!
You are held hostage if you show up and don’t like what’s on the menu.
When we asked our server if they could accommodate some replacement items he was kind enough to go ask the chef, twice.
The chef declined (twice) to do anything other than what was on the menu.
The food was very salty, portions were small, and we left hungry, after paying $816.00 with tip for three people and a bottle of wine (and a $4.50 glass of iced-tea).
We had the opportunity through a friend to have dinner at Club 33 several months ago (we are not members). Excellent food and service and it cost less than our Napa Rose experience, plus we were full after dinner at Club 33.
When the support staff feels the need to apologize at the end of the meal then you know there’s a problem.
I’d get there three days ahead of your reservation to check the menu before you decide to dine at Napa Rose, so you’ll still have the opportunity to cancel without paying.
If you do go, grab a snack or two beforehand. To our tummy will be happier.
Brought relocating clients here while they were exploring Anaheim Hills and surrounding neighborhoods — it made a strong impression. Napa Rose sets a benchmark for fine dining in Orange County: beautifully crafted seasonal menu, impeccable service, and an elegant atmosphere inside the Grand Californian that feels genuinely special. For clients moving to OC from major metro areas, this is the kind of restaurant that instantly signals the region punches well above its weight on the dining front.

This is heart-breaking that I have to do this, but I need to raise the red flag, as I want to get their leadership's attention.
We used to come here twice a year before the pandemic, and we were here twice after the pandemic. We used to love this place. It used to be the best restaurant in Los Angeles.
This was our first time since the remodel.
While it’s ecstatically and functionally much nicer, we were not pleased with the menu.
1. They don’t offer bread anymore. Before the pandemic, they had a nice breadbasket with 4 different types of bread. We loved it.
2. You can’t order a la carte anymore. You are forced to have the $188 prix fixe menu. It has 5 courses, and the waiter assured us that we wouldn’t need bread, as the menu is very filling.
3. I don’t need a waiter to tell me what I need or not need. The portions are extremely small. I even ordered the $30 Amuse Bouche caviar pillow, and we even ordered an extra dessert, yet we were still not full.
4. If I spend $1,000 (including tip) for a dinner for 2, I shouldn’t have to contemplate whether or not to go to McDonald’s after dinner to get full. If you are forcing me to order your 5-course prix fixe menu, then the least you could do is to give me enough food. Before the pandemic, they had proper portions and with an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert, we were more than full.
I liked the dishes, but they must stop forcing guests to only have a prix fixe menu to order from. I thought that’s what the Chef’s table was for. Other guests should be able to order a la carte. And they have to bring back their signature breadbasket.
We are not going back until their leadership acknowledges that they made a mistake and informs us that the a la carte menu and the breadbasket are back.
So, feel free to dish out some heavy cash for your dinner and have the experience at the remodeled Napa Rose, but be prepared to go to McDonald's afterwards to get full.
