It started when my partner asked for Uni. She asked if was from Hokkaido, she was told it was and definitely was not. From there every dish that came out was worse. The only decent dish was the corn fritter. We have no plans to return.
I genuinely cannot understand how this place has a 4.6-star rating with 500+ reviews. Either I ordered from a completely different restaurant than everyone else, or the bar for sushi in Alameda has fallen through the floor.
This was one of the worst sushi meals I’ve ever paid for.
The prices suggest you’re getting decent-quality sushi. What actually showed up felt like supermarket sushi dressed up with sauces and imitation crab and sold at restaurant prices. The fish tasted like basic previously frozen product, there was almost no meaningful amount of sashimi in the rolls, and nearly everything seemed padded out with rice, imitation crab, mayo, and filler.
The rolls themselves looked like they were cut during an earthquake. Some pieces were ridiculously thin, others were massive uneven chunks. There was zero consistency. I’ve seen cleaner knife work from grocery-store sushi counters.
And the sashimi salad was borderline offensive. Instead of something fresh and light, they absolutely drowned the entire thing in a thick mayo-based dressing until it became a bowl of creamy slop. If your fish is good, you don’t need to bury it under half a cup of sauce.
That was really the theme of the entire meal: cheap filler, heavy sauces, tiny amounts of actual fish, sloppy preparation, and premium pricing.
For what they charge, this honestly felt like a rip-off. You’re paying sushi-restaurant prices and getting something that, in my opinion, isn’t meaningfully better than grabbing a tray from Safeway.
Save your money. Seriously. Go somewhere else, go to a grocery store, eat a sandwich — basically anything other than spending premium money on this.
Absolutely awful.

Genuinely can't express how grateful I am to the staff for such a great experience. Emily is a rockstar and everyone in my group left the restaurant a little bit in love with her. The salmon kama was absolutely scrumptious, and everyone was so grateful for the generous portions. Such a great place to discover after a lovely beach day.

We went in and our bill came out to be almost 300 and after we ate and went to pay they told us that it's only cash we couldn't use a card and of course we didn't have that much in cash so it was very frustrating they could have told us that before hand

When: Weekday dinner
What: Pork Belly Don, and Beef Udon
Experience:
Find the food here being a mix of Japanese and Chinese food. I did not have any sushi so I won’t be able to comment on that.
Pork Belly Don was on the fatty side for my preference so end up needing to cut fat portions out before eating. Which is fine with me since I know there may be people who would like it. However, the taste was a little too salty and it did taste a little towards soy sauce pork belly, with the only difference that theirs is also very garlicky.
Beef udon had reasonable udon though the beef was lacking in flavor. The beef meat could use some light seasoning before cooking so that it’s more appealing vs being bland.
Good customer service. Granted we were the only one eating in, while there were people doing take outs, they had good customer service. We left an item and didn’t even notice, but they called us from our reservation info to get the item back to us - which I appreciate a lot.
Due to being the only people eating in, it was on the quieter side with music playing in the background.
