  If you are not a drinker or handicapped I'd pass on this venue. Boozy vibe with good music otherwise. The view is nice, but make a reservation if you want a piece of it. Even at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday it was packed. Wasn't overwhelmed by the food menu.

  I am currently staying here, having returned due to enjoying my stay in September 2025. The hotel rooms and grounds are lovely. However, the food and service in the cafe has gone downhill, which I can only assume is due to now being run in-house as opposed to by external caterers. More disappointingly is the treatment I have just received in the pool bar. We did not reserve a table but that did not appear to be an issue. The girl who greeted us asked if we would like to sit somewhere with a view, which I confirmed but she showed us to a table for 4 in the middle section. As there were several free tables for 2 at the side, overlooking the sea, I asked if it would be possible to sit there. She hesitated and reluctantly said yes. Once seated she came back and said if we found it too hot she would happily move us.. It was obvious from her attitude that she wanted us to vacate the table. I assured her that we were fine where we were and after about 10 minutes, she came back, announced that she would need the table back shortly and slapped a reserved sign on it. There were at least 5 other unoccupied tables in the same row which were not reserved. If it was reserved, this should have been made clear from the outset. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and have never been made to feel so unwelcome.

  This is not a negative review for The Rooftop Bar, but a descriptive review of once in a time of when odds happen. I came to The Rooftop Bar after 9pm and they had a wedding scheduled the next day. The Rooftop Bar's view is great from the top floor out looking the ocean. The had a glass cover over the pool due to a private reserved party the next day, so they had a glass cover which looked very cool. Heres the odds, we ordered a Banana Brulee, unfortunately they were all sold out the Bananas liquor, so we ordered a Cloud 9 and Midnight cold brew. Here's the odds again. We were served 2 Cloud 9s. We also ordered the Smores desert cake, not sure on the exact name of it. Here's another odds... since I had to wait for the correct drink to go with my desert, the gram crackers were very soggy. But overall the experience was great. The service seemed very busy at first, but genuinely a very nice and welcoming staff. I would go back again.

  Views are rhe only exceptional thing. Drinks were horrible. Apetizers okay. Service marginal ( ar best) Music is bothersomely loud making any conversation impossible, unless you want the entire place to hear it. Left early since the entire ambiance became hostile somehow...

  Beautiful views, but a terrible happy hour value. While the ocean view from The Rooftop Bar is nice, their happy hour is a complete disappointment. The drinks are heavily overpriced for the quality provided. The food options on the happy hour menu are practically missing, and the portion sizes are microscopic. They rely strictly on their location to attract people instead of putting effort into providing a high quality happy hour menu. There are much better, higher-quality happy hour experiences elsewhere in Oceanside. There was no uniformity behind the bar. Regular Street clothed employees were behind the bar doing odd bar work. Even the bar help should be dressed appropriately and uniformly. And then to top it all off if you do go here expect to receive an unknown service charge on your bill. Personally I would not have tipped so much if they were charging a vague service fee
