I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this rooftop.
My friend and I briefly stepped away to the restroom. During that time, the staff went to the table next to us and asked if we had left without paying. The girls at that table responded that they didn’t think so, especially since we had left behind an expensive scarf clearly meaning we were coming back.
Despite that, one of the waiters still said “maybe they’ll leave,” which was very unprofessional and honestly disrespectful.
Making assumptions about customers like this, even after others pointed out we were obviously returning, is not acceptable. It created an awkward and uncomfortable situation when we came back.
I expected a much higher level of professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet that expectation.

Literally everytime I come here service is painfully slow, they always say the seats by the glass is reserved but noone shows up. Place always is dead which is a shame. Seems mismanaged, they could be doing alot of business up here if it was managed properly. Waiting for a callback from the manager.
Also after the long wait I ask for a margarita with Don Julio 1970 she comes back and says here the 1942. I tell her we ordered 1970 and she says we dont have that…. Its on your menu! She should have at least offered the drinks complimentary, but instead just tool the drinks back and said we dont have that. So we just left waste of time.

Beautiful rooftop bar that feels like some of my favorite places in Waikiki. Great ambiance and decor. I came late on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t crowded. Would come back with a friend or my husband next time I’m in town.
I ordered the sea bass and a salad. The food is definitely on the expensive side but you’re paying for the rooftop location and high end hotel/ rooftop bar.
Next time I will get one of the fancy cocktails. My Cadillac margarita was good.
The sea bass is an appetizer not an entree. The salad is really nice looking. I’m surprised how small the sea bass is even though I knew it would be a “small bite” and not a meal.

The rooftop at Mission Pacific has one undeniable selling point: the views. If you’re lucky enough to get a beachfront facing spot, it’s honestly hard to beat. That part absolutely lives up to the hype.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience doesn’t quite match.
Service is very hit or miss. A few of the waitresses were genuinely great, but the hosting and overall service felt more “fake nice” than actually welcoming, like they were doing you a favor just by accommodating you. It didn’t feel natural or guest-focused.
I stayed at the hotel and visited the pool deck three different times. On one visit, we were told we’d need to leave our table within an hour due to a reservation, except no one ever came to use it. Meanwhile, there were multiple empty tables sitting uncleared and unavailable. It just felt disorganized.
As a hotel guest, I was also surprised by how restrictive the pool setup was. I wanted to relax poolside, but was quoted $345 for a cabana and two lounge chairs… for one person. At the same time, I watched a group of six guests rearranging furniture themselves just to sit together, which kind of says everything about how things are managed.
The food was good, but the drinks were below average, definitely not what you’d expect for a place at this price point.
Overall, this spot leans heavily on its beautiful views, but cuts many corners in too many other areas. Worth it for the scenery, but don’t expect the service or overall experience to match.
As you can see the views are amazing and that's the only thing that's spectacular.

We stopped in on a Tuesday evening as visitors from the Midwest and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The view of the Oceanside Pier is stunning, and the staff couldn't have been more warm and welcoming.
We did several small plates — the white bean hummus was superb, the cheese monger board was lovely, the chilled sea bass came with delicious homemade-style chips, and the warm baklava bread pudding for dessert was a perfect ending.
But the real highlight was how incredibly dog friendly this place is. We brought our dog and from the moment we arrived, every single staff member loved on him — pets, kind words, genuine affection. Fellow patrons were equally wonderful, including a lovely couple next to us who asked permission before giving him a little treat and shared a photo of their own pup.
The ocean breeze gets chilly in the evening but they had heat lamps AND offered blankets — a very thoughtful touch. If you're visiting Oceanside with your dog and want a beautiful view, great small plates and genuinely warm hospitality, this is your spot. We'll absolutely be back before we leave town.
