I came down from Alaska, during that horrific windstorm on May 28th (2026). Between the wind and the sprinklers going, I was unable to locate my great grandparents grave (they are flat> so there is little distinction. They were so nice, they had one of the directors drive out and help me locate it! I didn’t have time to stop for pictures, as I was trying to locate and leave without any damage to my rental car. It was only through God’s protection and blessing that I was able to do so. Huge branches both dead and alive were falling and breaking off all around, where I had previously searched by myself for their graves and on the road coming and going on that day. The Cloverdale Funeral Home has an EXCEPTIONAL STAFF, and their receptionist, Lynn was wonderful and compassionate helping me out with locating the graves. I can’t RECOMMEND THIS CEMETERY MORE HIGHLY. This photo was taken accidentally putting my phone in my pocket, on my first attempt trying to locate the graves > just prior to 1/2 of the forest 🌳debris coming down around me that day, while returning for assistance to locate the graves.

Nothing really prepares you as an adult to make such arrangements for your loved one that is getting ready to pass. Where do you begin? What do you need to do? Will I have all my bases covered to make sure that everything covered? My parents wanted to have services done for my grandma at Cloverdale Funeral Home. So, I made us an appointment to get this process started. My uncle was getting ready to head back to Texas so thankfully we were able to in later this afternoon.
We worked with Nathan today. If I can describe Nathan in one word, it would be calming. Your brain is moving at 100 miles an hour with questions and emotions. I'm also translating this process with my family so stress was weighing heavy on me not to mess up. The presence of Nathan gave me the reassurance that everything will be ok.
Nathan walked us through everything. He answered every question, even if it was a repeated question since my family was asking over and over again. He respected my family's religion. My family being Buddhist, our burial process is different. Didn't even phase Nathan, he was cool about it all. He walked us through our urn selection, the coffin rental, floral arrangement. As stressful and emotional this whole process is, it was super smooth.
Nathan didn't rush us. He was gracious from start to finish. The comfort level was there. Nathan also kept it light hearted, we were able to laugh a few times. It was nice to see my family laugh despite of this sad situation.
When the time comes for my grandma to pass, we are ready. We were able to get the main parts of my grandma's funeral taken care of. Until then, it will be the more personal finishing touches that we will have to finish up on. I am so grateful that we started the process with Cloverdale Funeral Home. I know that my grandma and her final exit will be the way she wanted. I appreciate Nathan and his kindness that he showed my family today.

After a frustrating start, I want to give credit where it's due. The funeral home ultimately made things right, and I truly appreciate the effort that went into resolving my concerns.
The process surrounding my mom's marker was causing a significant amount of stress, frustration, and anxiety during an already difficult time. Communication issues and delays left me feeling uncertain and overwhelmed. However, once Jake became involved, everything changed.
Jake took ownership of the situation, kept me informed, followed through on his commitments, and made sure the issue was resolved. More importantly, he treated me with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. He understood the emotional weight of the situation and helped alleviate a tremendous amount of stress that had been hanging over me for weeks.
Losing a loved one is hard enough without having to worry about unresolved details, and Jake's willingness to step in and see things through made a real difference. I'm grateful for his help and for the funeral home's efforts to make things right in the end.
Thank you, Jake, for your professionalism, compassion, and follow-through.

I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the crew at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Memorial Day I went to my hubby's grave - Terrace Lawn's looked great - and there was the nicest young man, Lincoln, out there helping people find their loved ones' resting places. He was thoughtful, compassionate and went out of his way to be kind to those struggling to find their way around. Thanks so much Lincoln and your team mates at Cloverdale!
Frequently Asked Questions About Cloverdale Funeral Home, Cemetery and Cremation
Do I have to make different funeral arrangements if I choose cremation?
It really depends entirely on how you wish to commemorate a life. One of the advantages of cremation is that it provides you with increased flexibility when you make your funeral and cemetery arrangements. You might, for example, choose to have a funeral service before the cremation; a memorial service at the time of cremation or after the cremation with the urn present; or a committal service at the final disposition of cremated remains. Funeral or memorial services can be held in a place of worship, a funeral home or in a crematory chapel.
What can be done with the cremated remains?
With cremation, your options are numerous. The cremains can be interred in a cemetery plot, i.e., earth burial, retained by a family member, usually in an urn, scattered on private property, or at a place that was significant to the deceased. (It would always be advisable to check for local regulations regarding scattering in a public place-your funeral director can help you with this.)
Today, there are many different types of memorial options from which to choose. Memorialization is a time-honored tradition that has been practiced for centuries. A memorial serves as a tribute to a life lived and provides a focal point for remembrance, as well as a record for future generations. The type of memorial you choose is a personal decision.
What is memorialization for a cremation?
You might choose ground burial of the urn. If so, you may usually choose either a bronze memorial or monument. Cremation niches in columbariums are also available at many cemeteries. They offer the beauty of a mausoleum setting with the benefits of above ground placement of remains. Many cemeteries also offer scattering gardens. This area of a cemetery offers the peacefulness of a serene garden where family and friends can come and reflect.
Can we scatter the cremated remains?
If you wish to have your ashes scattered somewhere, it is important to discuss your wishes to be scattered ahead of time with the person or persons who will actually have to do the cremation ashes scattering ceremony, as they might want to let your funeral professional assist in the scattering ceremony. Funeral directors can also be very helpful in creating a meaningful and personal ash scattering ceremony that they will customize to fit your families specific desires. The services can be as formal or informal as you like. Scattering services can also be public or private. Again, it is advisable to check for local regulations regarding scattering in a public place-your funeral director can help you with this.
If I am cremated, can I be buried with my spouse even if he or she was in a casket?
Yes — Depending upon the cemetery's policy, you may be able to save a grave space by having the cremains buried on top of the casketed remains of your spouse, or utilize the space provided next to him/her. Many cemeteries allow for multiple cremated remains to be interred in a single grave space.
What do I need to know about income tax when I lose a spouse?
Uncertainty about income tax issues can add to the stress experienced from the death of a spouse. You should meet with your family attorney and/or tax advisor as soon as possible to review your particular tax and estate circumstances. Bring a detailed list of your questions to the meeting. If you do not have an attorney or tax advisor, call the IRS toll-free at 800-829-1040 for answers to specific tax questions.
Is there financial help if I need it?
There are a number of options available, including:
Determine if the deceased person qualifies for any entitlements. Check with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and with your State Fund. Many people are entitled to get financial assistance with their funeral costs from these agencies if they qualify.
Review all insurance policies the deceased person has, including life insurance. Some life insurance policies have coverage clauses for funeral related costs.
Find local charities providing financial help for funeral expenses. Search for non profit organizations and for churches in your area.
Talk to your funeral director about cremation options - these can be much less expensive depending on your choices.
