1. The nature of God
Christian theology:
God is one being, eternal, uncreated, immutable, and not composed of parts. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share one essence.
LDS theology:
The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three separate beings. God the Father has a physical, exalted body and was once as humans are now.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christian theology defines God as fundamentally different from created beings. A God who was once a man and has a body is not the Christian God by definition.
2. The Trinity
Christian theology:
The Trinity is one God in three persons—co-equal, co-eternal, same essence.
LDS theology:
Rejects the Trinity; teaches a “Godhead” of three distinct beings united in purpose, not essence.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
The Trinity isn’t an optional theory in Christianity; denying it places a belief outside Christian orthodoxy.
3. Creation (ex nihilo)
Christian theology:
God created the universe out of nothing (ex nihilo).
LDS theology:
Matter is eternal; God organized pre-existing matter.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
If matter is eternal, God is not the ultimate source of all being, which breaks a foundational Christian claim about God’s sovereignty.
4. Jesus Christ’s nature
Christian theology:
Jesus is eternally God, uncreated, the second person of the Trinity.
LDS theology:
Jesus is a spirit child of the Father, distinct from God in being, and the “elder brother” of humanity (and of Lucifer).
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christianity does not allow Jesus to be a created being or one god among others.
5. Lucifer’s relationship to Jesus
Christian theology:
Lucifer is a fallen angel, a created being entirely unlike Christ.
LDS theology:
Lucifer and Jesus are spirit brothers.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
In Christian theology, placing Christ and Satan in the same ontological category is impossible.
6. Human nature and destiny
Christian theology:
Humans are created beings who may participate in God’s life but never become God in essence.
LDS theology:
Faithful humans can become gods, ruling their own worlds.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christian theology draws a hard line between Creator and creature that is never crossed.
7. Salvation
Christian theology:
Salvation is by grace alone, received through faith; good works are a result, not a cause.
LDS theology:
Salvation is through grace after all you can do, requiring ordinances, covenants, and obedience.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Adding required works or rituals to salvation changes the mechanism Christianity claims God uses to save.
8. Authority and apostasy
Christian theology:
The Church may err in practice but never completely lost the gospel.
LDS theology:
A “Great Apostasy” occurred; all Christian churches lost authority until restored through Joseph Smith.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christianity claims continuity from Christ through history; LDS theology denies that continuity.
9. Scripture
Christian theology:
The Bible is sufficient and closed as doctrinal revelation.
LDS theology:
Additional scriptures and ongoing prophetic revelation can supersede biblical interpretation.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
This alters how truth is determined and allows later teachings to override apostolic doctrine.
10. Heaven and exaltation
Christian theology:
Heaven is eternal communion with God.
LDS theology:
The highest heaven involves exaltation to godhood and eternal progression.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christian theology centers worship and eternity on God, not on becoming God.
11. God’s uniqueness
Christian theology:
“There is no God besides Me” is literal and absolute.
LDS theology:
Multiple gods exist; the Father is supreme for this world.
Why this contradicts Christianity:
Christian monotheism is exclusive, not hierarchical.

If you go anywhere within a few miles of this place, I hope you like being told that you should come visit this place dozen of times, because that is exactly what happenes. Last time I got coffee at a place near here, two different group of people stopped me and told me to go here. They don't even drink coffee, but they were still there.
