The chain of command and appeal process at Hondros Independence has been one of the most frustrating parts of my experience. You are told to follow the proper chain of command, so you do exactly that, only to be passed from one person to another and still not receive a clear answer or resolution. The grade discrepancies are another serious concern. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR GRADES!! When a student questions a grade or notices inconsistencies, there should be a clear, transparent process for reviewing the issue. Instead, my experience was that getting answers was extremely difficult and the process felt more focused on defending the original decision than actually investigating the discrepancy. Then comes the appeal process. You can follow every step you're instructed to follow, provide your information, and escalate your concerns, but it can feel like the outcome is already predetermined. At that point, the question becomes: what is the purpose of having an appeal process if students don't feel genuinely heard? For a school that charges as much as Hondros does, students deserve accurate grading, clear communication, transparency, and a fair opportunity to challenge a decision when there is a legitimate concern. These are not unreasonable expectations -they should be the bare minimum.

Hondros Independence Campus administrators lacks integrity and is a complete joke, in my opinion. The communication is horrible. You can follow the chain of command exactly as instructed and still get passed around and given the runaround. My experience with the appeal process is basically a joke and was extremely frustrating and did not feel fair or supportive. Sarah Tochinsky assistant Dean, Sarah DeLong, Campus Dean and Director of Nursing, was extremely unsupportive in my experience. I escalated my concerns through Anthony Hibbs, Regional Campus Executive Director; Adam Bulizak, Vice President of Accreditation and Compliance; and Sarah Wandstrat, Area Dean of Nursing and Program Administrator, and I still felt like nobody actually wanted to take accountability or resolve the issue. For the amount of money this program costs, the lack of communication and student support is unacceptable. You can make it through the entire nursing program, complete your classes and clinicals, and still be stopped at the finish line because of the HESI exit exam if you don't pass within the required attempts. Think twice before enrolling. Ask questions, talk to current/former students, and make sure you fully understand the HESI and appeal policies before giving this school your time and money. I wish I had.

Hondros college will leave you disappointed. when you’re enrolling they won’t stop calling or spamming you with emails but after they get your money they won’t respond, they stop answering the phone . I never attended a college where their communication is so bad ! Dean Sarah delong & Dr.Dailey are not the nicest & not very understanding. They didn’t allow me in to take my final exam when I submitted the correct documentation. They will give u the run around ! Teachers don’t send out emails when testing times change & want to fail u because of how poor their communication is . 55,000 for ADN program & they can’t send out emails the day before that testing times changed ? Reevaluate your other options before taking out loans for this school .

Nursing School was HARD but Hondros provided a supportive, challenging, and empowering learning environment that shaped me into the nurse I am today. The instructors pushed me to grow, believed in my potential, and made sure I was clinically and emotionally prepared for real‑world nursing. I am truly grateful for the mentorship, structure, and encouragement I received throughout the program. If you are considering nursing school, Hondros is a place where hard work meets opportunity. The program is fast‑paced, but it builds resilience, confidence, and real clinical skill. If you stay focused, lean on your instructors, and trust the process, you will walk out stronger, smarter, and ready to change lives. Hondros will challenge you, great staff, professors. — but it will also prepare you, support you, and celebrate you every step of the way, especially Ms. A. Ballentine, Mr. F. Pringle

I just completed the ADN program after finishing the lpn program in 2024. This school gives you what you put in. It's not easy. Its a very do it yourself program.
