Ohio State Department of Dance

The Ohio State University Department of Dance integrates physical practice, creative process, and theoretical inquiry, where students train to become performers, choreographers, dance filmmakers, scholars, writers, teachers, designers, and arts entrepreneurs. We embrace a cross-disciplinary perspective at the forefront of contemporary dance in which dance writing deepens performance, digital technologies expand choreography, and historical study informs teaching. Students graduate from our programs with the artistry, ambition, and creativity to be visionaries and advocates in the dance field and in their communities.
