Worst haircut I have ever received. It had been over 10 years since I my hair cut due to a poor experience at a salon. I had recently worked up the courage to cut almost 3 feet off. The student I was placed with was kind and completely understood my length goals, placing hair ties to indicate how much would be cut off. Without the students knowledge, her teacher, Leslie, stepped in and began to cut, not understanding what I wanted. Even when I initially corrected her, the teacher responded harshly and said "that's what I was doing". Besides being unhappy with the length, the haircut was poorly done. I had hoped for hair around mid back, soft layers and face framing pieces. The teacher left me with a blunt cut, ending above my shoulders, and the pieces around my face being longer than the back. The student and her peers were incredibly empathetic for my experience and even corrected the teacher, saying that this is not what I wanted at all. My hair has always been sacred to me. It made me feel confident and beautiful. Leslie provided a haircut that left me feeling ugly and with my confidence shattered. Teachers should not step in and perform treatments without the student knowing and especially without understanding what the client is wanting. This is not how students gain useable experience, nor how clients are left satisfied. The only thing the students learned from this was how to comfort the client and apologize for something they did not do.

I love this salon! It's a fun and exciting experience, and I'm always treated so well. The stylist and instructor ask all the questions needed to know exactly what you want done, and are knowledgeable for anything you might ask about.

Very reasonable price and I received a birthday discount. My stylist was young but professional and made sure I was properly taken care of even though I was an half-hour late to my appointment. It seems the school is doing a great job preparing the students for the real world.

Requested very light neutral blond highlights with minimal low lights for dimension. Explicitly said not dark or ash tones. Front of part is orange Still have brown roots as if they weren't Lowlights washed into the bottom of hair to make it all dark The toner turned my hair an ashy blue Underneath is overprocessed and damaged I have to go through color correction with another salon. Very disappointed and upset.

If I could, I would give 5 stars to my student Bailey, and 1 star to the Learning Leader Angela. I came in with a big hair color goal. Bailey was my student colorist and had not done balayage before. I was very impressed with her professionalism and commitment to learning a new color technique. She was engaged, fun, smart, and made sure I had a positive experience. She has all the great qualities needed for a successful future in this industry. The Learning Leader Angela was not a good educator. This was not my first time at PMTS. The previous LL I’ve had were hands on, supportive, encouraging, and engaged in teaching the students new skills and time management. That’s what a school is! Angela did not do this. The LL are the experienced professionals. Although, I question Angela’s experience with color because she never touched my hair or taught Bailey anything. Bailey had to rely on other LL and students. Angela’s poor time management skills caused my appointment to go past the school closing time. She told me three times I would have to come back another day to finish. I told her it was not an option to leave the salon without my hair complete, and was frustrated she kept telling me to leave without a finished color service, even suggesting I take time off work or figure out child care to come back (completely clueless and inappropriate suggestions). It was disappointing to see an educator not take her responsibility seriously to empower and teach the next generation of her craft. If I have any future appointments scheduled under Angela, I will cancel them.
