I enrolled in this cosmetology program with high expectations, especially considering the tuition cost of approximately $27,000. For a program that costs more than some college tuition, I expected a structured learning environment, engaged instructors, and a quality educational experience.
Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations. During my first week, we were already covering Chapter 5, and I felt the pace and teaching methods were not effective for new students. On one occasion, our instructor was absent, and despite having a master cosmetologist serving as a substitute, very little instruction took place throughout the day.
I often felt that meaningful attention from the instructor was limited, and I found myself learning more from classmates than from the actual teaching staff. When I brought my concerns to Mr. Scott, I was hoping for a constructive conversation about the issues I was experiencing. Instead, I felt that my concerns were dismissed and that he became defensive rather than addressing them.
I was encouraged to wait 30 days before making a decision about the program. However, the refund period was only seven days, and I did not feel comfortable risking such a significant financial investment while waiting to see if things improved. After careful consideration, I decided the program was not the right fit for me and withdrew.
When I informed Mr. Scott of my decision, I felt that he spoke over me rather than listening to my concerns. As a student making a major educational and financial commitment, I expected my feedback to be treated with respect.
Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of instruction, communication, and professionalism I experienced. Given the cost of the program, I expected a much higher standard of education and student support.
