The goal of Acacia Academy’s Transition Program (Burr Ridge Campus) is to maximize a student's opportunity for independence. The Transition Program (ages 18-22) is for special needs students who have completed their high school requirements and wish to further develop skills in on-the-job training, academics, foods/nutrition, independent living, and life skills while obtaining therapeutic services such as social work counseling, speech therapy and occupational therapy. The independent living curriculum is individualized based on each student’s unique needs and goals. Upon completion, students obtain full time/part time employment, enroll in community colleges/universities, or day programs for further enrichment.
