Established in 1894, Sutro serves students in grades TK-5 in the Inner Richmond District. One class in each grade K-5 is General Education taught in English, and the other class is Cantonese Biliteracy, where students learn both Cantonese and English.
Sutro is committed to the principle that all students will have an equal opportunity to succeed in school, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, or ability level. To this end, we use Title 1 funding to provide smaller group learning to meet students’ needs. Grant funding is used to provide subsidized or free before- and after-care, as well as extra enrichment programs.
