A Very Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended Based on our personal experience, we have serious concerns about the quality of care and the way young children are treated at Merry Hill Danbrook School. We have personally witnessed teachers being harsh with young children, which is especially concerning when dealing with toddlers as young as two years old. We question whether the staff have the appropriate training, patience, and skills necessary to care for and support children at such an important stage of their development. Our experience with the principal has also been extremely frustrating. Communication feels difficult, and it can be challenging to have a complete, productive conversation or get concerns properly addressed. Early childhood education requires patience, compassion, understanding, and a nurturing environment. Parents should feel confident that their children are safe, supported, and treated with kindness. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. We believe the school needs to take a serious look at its staff training, approach to childcare, and communication with parents. We would not recommend Merryhill Danbrook School to parents who are looking for a nurturing, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment for their children’s early learning. Every child deserves patience, respect, and quality care, especially during their formative years.

We love all the staff at Merryhill Danbrook! Our daughter started coming here at 3 months and I was so nervous at first as a new mom. But once I met the warm and friendly staff my fears were calmed. She has developed and learned so much since then and I know it is because of the wonderful care and attention the staff gives to her. Thank you especially to Ms. Lydia, Sam, Deb, Jordan, Caren, Melinda, Ms. Sharon and all of the other caring teachers that take care of our children. I wish I remembered all of their names since they all help each other out. I feel comfortable knowing that it is a safe environment, in a caring community where my little one will be taken care of and is happy.

My son has been going to this school since he was 6 months old. I interviewed and was on waitlists for other schools but this school had the quickest availability… and boy am I thankful for it! My immediate impression was good because some of the other schools I interviewed with had a somewhat “stuffy” vibe. Immediately during the interview I felt welcomed by the principal, Robin, and every other faculty/admin person I came across, and continue to still meet to this day. Robins door is always open and I feel comfortable discussing my child’s needs with her and the other staff/faculty at this school. The school communicates weekly with parents through text, email, and an app. My favorite part is having pictures sent to me of my child engaging with other children or activities through the day in the app. It brightens my mood and makes me feel like I am not missing out on his growth and development by working. My son also really loves coming to the school in the morning. He has grown very fond of Robin and his teachers and friends and I can see that this early exposure to others has been a true benefit to his social development. If I had to throw something negative out there just to balance my review, I think that would be the parking lot. It’s a bit too small and I believe it was likely set up before the onslaught of SUVs. But that is such a minor thing compared to the other positive benefits come from my son being enrolled at this school.

My Child has been here for almost a year. We love the school. Merryhill provides a curriculum that meets young kids where they are while promoting engagement. They have many family engagement opportunities, such as fall festivals, ice cream days, book fairs, parent-teacher conferences, etc. They use a links app that shares pictures and what our kids are working on. Finally, they partner with vendors to come in and provide various activities for kids, from cooking classes to gymnastics, soccer, and more. This is certainly the place to learn and grow for kids zero to five. I recommend anyone with kids zero to five enroll here. The teachers and administration are wonderful. Today is 2/8/25, this school has changed and as a result I have moved my child. I do hope that it improves by hiring qualified staffed, paying staff better to support retention of teachers, focusing on kids, and being mindful of student teacher ratios. Between August and December there was a major decline in care. I wanted to amend my review from a year ago as the first portion is no longer valid and I did not want to mislead anyone.
