  My child has been enrolled at LePort since the infant program. He had Mrs. Sheikh as his infant teacher and she did amazing to prepare him for the Toddler program. She is loving and no nonsense at the same time. That's the best combination of you ask me. The teachers who care and push you to be better at what you do. Before the transition to the Toddler program Mrs. Sheikh paused and ended up recommending a different teacher instead of the originally assigned teacher. She took the time to consider my son's personality and thought about whose teaching style would best suit him and allow him to thrive. This really speaks volumes to the amount of care and thought that goes into each stage of your child's journey at LePort. My son is currently in Ms. Arzate's toddler class. I wanted to take a moment to recognize her and thank her for all that she does. She not only educates our children, but us parents as well, similar to Mrs. Sheikh. The moment that I appreciated the most is when I came in complaining about everything that my son was doing "wrong" and she stopped me and had me reflect on what I was saying in front of my child. During the moment, I wanted to cry and felt like in some way I had failed my son as a Mom. This honest moment, helped me step back and re-evaluate my interactions with my son. I didn't want him to feel bad like he was always doing something wrong, when in fact he's doing really great. I want him to know that I see his progress and that I am really proud of him and that he should be proud of himself. The next day, on the way to pick up our son, my husband and I were talking about my husband's concerned about wet events in public. I thought about the conversation that I had with Ms. Arzate. I said to him that this may be a year long journey and we can't keep our son exclusively at home or school for a full year. I reminded him that originally our son wasn't going to start night potty training until 6-8 weeks of daytime potty training. At two weeks into daytime potty training, Ms. Arzate's already felt that he was ready to start night time potty training. It was quite the accomplishment and I wanted us to recognize that. We ended taking our son out for dinner and at the end of the meal, my son stopped what he was doing and started to say "pee pee". He held it in until I could rush him to the car and peed in his travel potty. Later, before bed, he got up to go to the bathroom. I expected him to wait for me in the hallway or bathroom in the dark. However, he got up on the stool, turned on the bathroom lights then sat and peed in the potty without being prompted. The culmination of all the hard work by the teachers is starting show through. I am in awe and incredibly grateful for the teachers and staff at LePort of the wonderful work they do to prepare our children for the future. Don't let the older facility look fool you into going somewhere that looks newer. It's the teachers, staff and community that make LePort an amazing place that you can trust to send your child.

  Le Port Huntington Harbor has been nothing short of amazing. My son is in the Spanish Immersion program and he loves it! His first teacher, Mrs. Jaramillo is amazingggg! I enjoy still seeing her around campus and at events. His current teacher, Mrs. Nava is fantastic!!! She puts a lot of care into teaching and has patience like you would not believe. The school puts on great events for the kiddos and families. We are very grateful for this school. :)

  High Teacher/Student ratio, they are very patient and caring for my boys' development. Lots of events, field trips and activities to keep them interested.

  We’ve had a wonderful experience at LePort Montessori Harbor. The environment is calm, structured, and truly aligned with Montessori principles, which has made a big difference in our child’s independence and confidence. The teachers are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child’s development. We’ve seen strong progress not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Communication with the staff has also been very smooth and reassuring as parents. What we particularly appreciate is the consistency and the focus on building real-life skills—our child comes home proud of what they’ve learned every day. We would absolutely recommend it to families looking for a strong Montessori foundation.

  The infant program is exceptional. And my experience with this school has been super positive. My son was enrolled in Sumayya Sheikh's class, and her class is outstanding. She consistently provides me with updates on my son's progress, and the application they utilize provides daily updates on the current status. The manner in which they integrate culture and community is truly remarkable. I would strongly encourage you to attend this place of learning. Soon, my son will be attending the toddler program, and I am eager to observe his subsequent development.
