Both of our daughters attended KinderCare Paseo Padre from the time they were just 4 months old until they each turned 5. Our family spent 9 wonderful years here. The teachers are absolutely amazing. I still remember that first week, feeling so anxious about leaving my baby with strangers... but the staff quickly felt like family. In the infant room, Ms. Gurdeep was the most loving teacher we could have asked for. As our girls moved from room to room, we continued to have the same incredible experience with Ms. Lisa, Ms. Preeti, Ms. Maya, Ms. Marcy, Ms. Deja, Ms. Wei, Ms. Ray, Ms. Sheryl, Ms. Lala, Ms. Fatemeh, Ms. Priya, Ms. Sulo, Ms. Wanda, Ms. Rosie, Ms. Shakieba... and so many others whose names I am missing. We are also so grateful for Ms. Rachita, the new director, who has been wonderful. As my youngest daughter moves on to kindergarten and we say our final goodbyes, we will miss this place dearly. I have absolutely no regrets and would recommend this KinderCare to anyone.

They are very expensive compared to other centers (about $550 per week for pre-k) but at the same time have government contracts where low income kids are allowed to go for free or low cost.
They do not give any discount or reduced fee for entire weeks or even months missed. If you are traveling for 6 weeks they charge you full price the whole time. The only other option is to unenroll and then pay the enrollment fee again and they say they can’t “guarantee your spot”. You also have to pay an extra enrollment and activities fee every year no matter what ($150-200).
We paid for extra phonics classes ($30-50 per week) and my son was no closer to reading after two years of them. After he left the school I started teaching him reading at home and we started from level zero. Same thing with writing.
They rely heavily on worksheets, especially in the 3-4 year old classrooms. Just multiple plain worksheets printed off the Internet. I wish they did more dynamic and engaging activities.
There is a weekly small group science class where the kids did fun activities but you also have to pay extra for that (about $30-50 per week).
I believe they had fruit or veggies at every meal
but the rest of the food is most processed convenience food- muffins , packaged crackers, etc. I guess this is what is easy to prepare and what most kids like, but is not the healthiest. They did a good job observing family food preferences (no meat, no eggs, etc)
One other good point is the kids do play outside a lot and they have a large play area with lots of bikes, toys, etc. They also do a lot of painting and art projects.
I feel bad writing a critical review because many of the teachers were very caring and almost like family to us. Many of them had been there 7-10 years or longer. I never had ANY doubts on safety or quality of their care. There are always multiple teachers in the room and children are never left isolated. They were great.
However from an educational perspective I am sharing this full review to help other families.
Also I will add that about 1.5-2 years ago their amazing director Ms Ida left. The new managers caused a lot of bad morale for the teachers. Many of the long time teachers left. So, unfortunately you need to read the old high reviews with a grain of salt. I hope they change this around because there are a lot of caring, wonderful teachers there that deserve better.

We enrolled our baby in backup care (with an intention to switch to fulltime) and were deeply disappointed with the experience. Despite warnings from others, I chose this center for its brand reputation, which I now regret.
The lack of care was alarming. My son was left crying on the floor with zero attention. When I asked how long he had been crying, the teacher’s only response was that he had been 'crying continuously,' yet she didn't seem to care or offer any updates. There was also no information provided regarding his first 8 hrs in this new daycare. Based on the number of diapers we sent versus what was returned, it appears he was only changed once in eight hours—only after he pooped. This matches exactly what my son told us.
Furthermore, a personal item is missing. We were never told to label our belongings, and despite calling five times over the past week or more, I have yet to receive a callback. We were also denied app access because we were 'backup care.' This experience was horrible and has made me fearful of trying center-based care again.

Want your toddlers to Bloom? Send them at this Kindercare branch!!
It's been a great run with Kindercare and we feel blessed that Bedant grew under the guidance of such amazing teachers like Miss Priya. So thank you so much Miss Priya, the growth that I have seen in Vedu in the last year is all because of you.
Every good thing comes to end, and so does our stint with Kindercare. Thank you Miss Ida..Miss Lala!!!
