Where do I even start? Unfortunately, our experience at this school was very disappointing. My daughter attended this school for approximately 1.5 years, from the beginner through intermediate level. During that time, I often felt that the teachers were not attentive, welcoming, or kind toward my child or toward me as a parent. There were many occasions when I was not greeted when I arrived, even though I observed teachers greeting other parents. I cannot say why this happened, but as someone from a different ethnic background, it sometimes made me wonder whether that played a role. I was also concerned about how my daughter was supervised. On two occasions, I came across her struggling to dress herself after using the restroom while the teacher was engaged in a conversation with another teacher. On another occasion, the teacher was putting toys away while my daughter was left to manage the situation herself. These experiences were particularly concerning because she was still learning to use the restroom independently. I was also very uncomfortable with comments and assumptions made about my daughter potentially being autistic. Teachers at a preschool are not qualified to diagnose autism, and I did not feel that it was appropriate for them to label my child in this way. I had her evaluated by a qualified professional, and I was told that she was fine. I strongly believe that concerns about a child’s development should be communicated appropriately to parents and referred to qualified professionals rather than presented as a diagnosis by school staff. Another major issue was staffing. There did not appear to be enough teachers, and my daughter was frequently moved to a different classroom in the afternoon. I would sometimes have to look around to figure out which room she had been moved to. This lack of consistency was frustrating and concerning. My daughter also frequently cried when I took her to school. Since moving her to a different private school, the difference has been remarkable; she is now happy to go to school. Even now, she tells me, “I don’t want to go back to that school,” and remembers that Ms. Sara used to get very upset with her. It is heartbreaking as a parent to hear that from your child. We also had issues with meals. Despite paying the full tuition, vegetarian lunch was generally not provided for my daughter, so I had to bring lunch from home most of the time. This was especially frustrating because other schools in the Elk Grove area offer vegetarian options for children. I also found the repeated requests for parents to leave positive reviews concerning, particularly when positive reviews were encouraged with the offer of a $20 gift card for teachers. In my opinion, reviews should reflect parents’ genuine experiences rather than being influenced by incentives. Overall, I am very relieved that my daughter is no longer attending this school. I hope the school takes this feedback seriously and considers making meaningful improvements to staffing, teacher training, communication with parents, supervision, and the way developmental concerns are handled.

do no t bring your child to school here. I'm not sure what I am upset most about but Overall its the feeling that my child's wellbeing takes a back seat to their profit margin. My son is not allowed to eat past 3pm, and comes home starving everyday we pick him up. They will send him home when he has soft stool, which per their policy they can because they can end any child home for 24 hours if they have any symptom of being sick, including just being fussy. despite dozens of parents protesting and p[providing studies that show how harmful to children's development and wellbeing, they have gone ahead and instituted mandatory school unforms. For children this age? please. Then there's the time i came into visit my son to se a teacher snapping her fingers repeatedly in his face and yelling his name making him sob. Then there's the constant teacher turn over, and the burnt out teachers that are left. and I cant even count how many professional development days and other holidays theyre closed for, and charge us the same amount for the week.

When we first joined this program, we were very excited. They had great teachers, and good admin staff and we have been here with both our kids for almost 3 years now. But in the last year, they have changed principles 3 times, instituted a ridiculous uniform policy for kids still learning to use the toilet just to conform to corporate standards at the elementary school, and now they fired one of the most caring and hardworking Pre-K teachers in the middle of the year so our kid won't have a dedicated teacher for the last half of his Pre-K year. This school has definitely changed, and from what I can gather, it's all due to the out of touch corporate administration caring more for the bottom line and conformity than our kids. Seriously consider going somewhere else if any of that bothers you.

We love Merryhill Preschool Laguna. They welcomed us even though we enrolled our daughter late in the fall 2023. The teachers are caring and they update us of what activities our kid is doing. They have different and exciting themes for learning each month that makes us parents involved. Miss Mckenzie, the principal, is very nice, helpful and approachable; all of the staff are very nice. Tk teachers Debbie and Nimfa treats our daughter kindly and gives fair and honest assessment and comments to our kid’s report. My child developed a lot of skills during her time here and she likes the school a lot. The place is safe and very pleasant environment/ community around the school.

We've only been at this location for a few months, but it's become a second home. Lisa and Linda run that location amazingly and are so understanding. Keep it up ladies.
