- JCJohn Culp3 days ago2.0This store caters to people in the trades. I was sent there by my builder to check on kitchen and bathroom plumbing fixtures. My wife and I got there shortly before closing, and a young man at the counter helpfully let us borrow a Delta catalog. When I returned next day with a list of several thousand dollars' worth of fixtures and a couple of questions, the senior man in charge was unfriendly and unhelpful. He said "Why are you here? Do you want me to show you pictures on the computer or something?" I explained that my builder, who recommended him highly, had sent me to check out fixtures, I had gone through their catalog, had a list and some questions about comparisons and prices. He told me "We don't have a showroom. There's one in Johnson City." He did answer a question I had. I went home and ordered several thousand dollars worth of stuff from Lowe's. If you're a builder or plumber, I'm sure they're great for you. If you're a homeowner, stay far away. We've been to the showroom in Johnson City, BTW. They have a limited selection of stuff on display. We didn't know you're expected to make an appointment to talk to a salesperson. After we looked around at displays for a while one had an opening. They did what salespeople do, trying to sell us whole suites of coordinated stuff for the whole house when we were looking for a few specific things. I've gotten E-mails from them for months. My builder bought some stuff from them to rough in our bathrooms, and I've bought stuff elsewhere instead. I'm done with Ferguson. Your experience and needs may be different from ours, and you may find them delightful.
