  One star. This post office managed to turn a simple customer-service issue into a lesson in bureaucratic incompetence. I went in person regarding an Amazon package with an address issue and was literally shown the package by an employee. However, because the employee had already placed a sticker on the box, I was told the package could no longer be released to me and had to be returned to Amazon. To be clear: I paid for the item, the package was physically sitting in front of me, and the employee was holding it. Yet I was informed that a sticker somehow mattered more than common sense or customer service. The result is that a time-sensitive order is now being shipped back, forcing me to wait for a refund and reorder products that were needed immediately. The entire experience felt less like dealing with people empowered to solve problems and more like dealing with a system designed to create them. If you need assistance from this branch, don’t expect practical solutions. You may get more useful help from the automated phone system than from the staff responsible for serving customers in person. The level of inflexibility, inefficiency, and administrative incompetence on display was genuinely astonishing.

  Stopped by to mail something. Clean facility. Staff were friendly and helpful. It could use some updating but it went with the local theme and was nostalgic :)

  In the past 10+ years we’ve lived in Waynesville, I’ve had excellent service when I go to the Post Office. Home delivery is a totally different experience. Our wonderful mail lady retired several years ago and pretty much ever since we’ve had issues. Sometimes packages are brought to the porch, but if it can be crammed into the mailbox that’s where it goes. Several times I’ve had to wait for someone else to come pull it out for me. I had 3 major surgeries from July 8 to August 12 this year and my recovery could take a year. I can’t push or pull on anything until I’m through recovery. I will no longer accept mail I can’t get out of the mailbox. If it’s crammed in there again I will take pictures and visit the post master. I was reading some of the reviews and unacceptable mail delivery seems to be the main complaint. I give 5 stars to Post Office in Waynesville but 1 star for home delivery. And that’s the nicest way I know to give this review.
