I haven’t had any problems with this post office. My family has been using this post office for over 20 years. It is very easy to send off packages in the indoor drop shoot. There is a machine where you can purchase and print a label as well as free shipping supplies next to it. Open M-S (to drop off and get mail from P.O. Box) and they have a lot of parking and a few handicapped parking spots right in front of the doors.

Matt was stellar at helping me send a return package and showed me how to track it on my phone to make sure it was delivered to the right address and when it arrived. Matt is a great asset to the USPS in O'Fallon MO.

I get that everyone HATES the post office. Its trendy and easy to do. They are understaffed, the post office in general loses money, their technology is old, and our senator wants to investigate them in St. Louis. As an amusing aside, they have a bulletin board in the lobby with our Missouri Senators and Reps.....from 2000!! Its at least 26 years old given who was listed (Former Senators Kit Bond and John Ashcroft).
All that is well known, and I'd have guessed people adjusted their expectations accordingly. From the recent reviews...they did not.
I made a passport appointment for 11:00 AM. It started a little later than 11:00 AM, but no worse than an appointment at a doctor or dentist. The post office was very busy with 10+ people waiting.....but very few bothering to make use of self service...
Anyways, the employee I worked with (I believe his name was Matthew...or something like that. He had 3 star pins on his name tag) was the best. He was extremely thorough in my passport application. I was nervous as I hadn't done this in years. I am also autistic and can get anxious in new/crowded places.
He was patient, explained things to me, and he corrected a few of the errors I had made on the form. He was methodical in how he put it together. He explained it all well. And he packaged it extremely well. I used a service to hand deliver the passport and he made sure it was good to go so it would be sure to pass review.
SO, thank you kind sir! I know lots of people hate the post office. I think they don't realize how it is to work there, how the funding is hilariously outdated, and the technology so far behind amazon or competitors that it puts the employees at a disadvantage.
Keep up the good work. Keep hiring people that are efficient, thorough, knowledgeable and able to help. Just maybe update your bulletin board and consider advertising self service better (maybe a sign that says, "Hate waiting in line? Just need to send a package or get some stamps? Don't want to deal with people today? Come use our self-service kiosk!) And then get a second kiosk lol.

We wanted to send a care package to our son who is a Marine and stationed in Japan. The lady at the desk was extremely short tempered and also gave us egregiously incorrect information, she said shipping to him would cost us hundreds of dollars and we had to pay for packaging. We left and went home and looked at the USPS website for correct information. She should be fired for this. Do better for our military members USPS.
