The post office clerks are wonderful. Never had a bad experience and they're always so friendly and helpful. My complaint is with the mail carrier. April 6th, I submitted an online mail forwarding to start on May 21st (I am moving May 23rd). My confirmation email even states May 21st as the date to start the mail forwarding. On May 1st I was to receive an important package delivered. My notification said it was undelivered due to mail forwarding. I went downstairs to check my mailbox and it was locked, I was unable to get in. Mind you I was able to get in up until this exact date. I went up to the Martin City Post office and expressed my concern. The clerk who helped me was so wonderful and she even looked out for my package. She called me later in the day to tell me my package was up there for me to pick up. I had to drive 45 minutes from where I was to get there before they closed and then drive 45 minutes back to where I was. She said she would talk to the mail carrier about the error. In the meantime, I left a note on my mailbox for the carrier stating my mail forward date was the 21st, not the 1st. Then that Monday I called the main customer service post office number and filed a complaint. The nice lady I spoke to called me back Tuesday and said that to change out the keys again would be very expensive and if I could either go to the post office to pick up my mail the next couple weeks or my leasing office. I told her that would be an inconvenience to me. She asked why would it be an inconvenience since the post office is only three blocks away. I felt like it didn't matter if the post office was across the street, why am I being inconvenienced for an error the mail carrier made. I did nothing wrong. I'm not going to disrupt my life to try to make it to the post office before they close, or my leasing office before they close or open, to get my mail. When I can freely get my mail when I get home at whatever time I wish to. I'm not trying to fly home by a certain time so I can pick up my mail and packages. She suggested either those two options or she said they can make another key but it would be expensive. I told her I would like for them to make another key to prevent me from having to inconvenience myself due to the mail carriers error. I was very nice and not rude at all. I can tell the customer service rep didn't like my option but she was still nice and said okay, she would let the mail carrier know. An hour later I got a call from the Martin City Post office from the actual clerk that helped me when I went up there originally. She said the mail carrier told her that she didn't lock me out or change the locks on my lock box, and said I could either pick up the mail from my leasing office or the post office. To defuse the situation I said I will pick it up from the post office. However, I feel like that the mail carrier lied. Because how is it for a year I was able to get into my mailbox every single day, and then the day that my package was undelivered due to mail forwarding, my mailbox key no longer works? When it worked the day before that. Also, why would the customer service rep explain that changing the locks again would be expensive. So the carrier is the issue I have with, because I know she changed my locks and inconvenienced me for weeks for a error that she made. No apology, no accommodations at all. Bottom line is she started my mail forwarding 20 days before it was supposed to start. It was her error and because of that I have to be inconvenienced. Mind you the customer service rep that called me also confirmed the error. I gave her my confirmation number and she said yes, I see it wasn't supposed to start till the 21st.

Thank goodness for JB working today, I came in for my passport, he was able to assist me without an appointment because no locations around me have had availability that worked with my schedule as a working mom with a traveling job. I had a lot of hold up with getting newly married and all the government shut downs with my documents, that his kindness and flexibility was such a relief. Thank you!

I just went to the post office in Martin City, and I received terrible customer service. I simply asked the employee, her name is Shannon, for a piece of tape for my package, and she refused to give it to me. She just gave me this disapproving look and said, “Oh, I’ll do it later.”
