  I rarely leave reviews, but it is very difficult finding a place to do the hair that you want. I scrolled through many reviews and finally settled on Amanda Maddox. You never know what you will get at a new salon. Just a heads up, they only have two chairs in the waiting area and ask that no one accompanies you, which I did not know before going in. This place is very expensive as one would expect from downtown knoxville, but I wanted a quality haircut, blonde highlights, and pink highlights. The staff were very sweet and asked many great questions about how I deal with my hair. This place is not scissor happy, which is the best! I got the perfect length that I wanted. The technique for natural highlights were great too, but definitely hurt for my more tender head. They also quote the exact price to you before anything happens, which is great. Now to the cons for specifically what I wanted; I was told that my hair was light enough to go ahead and do blonde and pink highlights at the same time, and that they would last me 4-6 weeks at least with a color safe routine/infrequent hair washing. It has been exactly 3 weeks since my appointment and the pink is completely gone, which I heavily stressed to my hairdresser that she could go really bright/dark just whatever would last longer. I do my own coloring all the time, so I know the expectations with color and how to take care of it. I am very disappointed considering the price I paid. I also pointed out the exact strand of hair that I wanted my blonde to be (I have been getting highlights for over 10 years), and the finished product was not nearly blonde enough. They do an automatic blowout without any input as the style, which is okay if you do not care. At the end, I noted that I like my hair to be blonder and have more layers, but my hairdresser said that was the shortest she would go (which I usually like, definitely a great thing to not get your hair chopped). I did like what I got, however with the price, I wanted to love it. Additionally, the hairdresser recommended redkin color extend set for my hair type, and I immediately purchased and used nothing but that. My hair is fine/curly, and it has made my hair considerably more frizzy and I have had a lot more hair fall out. I am very disappointed in the coloring and care that I received for the long term. I paid over $300, so I expect excellent quality. Overall, I would not go back. It depends what you are looking for. If you want a blowout and cut that is showcased on their Instagram, they will do great. However, if you want fun styles and something different, it is not worth the money.

  This salon did a fabulous job, and I cannot recommend my stylist, Stevie Fann, enough!!! She was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! Total was $341 before tip for my haircut, highlights, two extra bowls of color, and a glaze, but I am in love with the results and honestly feel like it was worth it!! Stevie spent 7 hours on my hair, and you could tell how much care and attention she put into every single step. She was so methodical and meticulous, making sure everything was perfect section by section. My hair was dyed, given special treatments, and cut specifically so that I could donate it, which was really important to me. I seriously cannot say enough about how wonderful Stevie was. Even during the initial color consultation, she took the time to really listen to what I wanted, and the color consultation is free, which was such a nice bonus if you just want a overall general pricing before making an appt.!! I also have curly hair, and I was really nervous about damaging my curls or losing their pattern. But, my curls are actually healthier than ever! Stevie made sure to take my natural texture into consideration throughout the entire process. She even showed me how to style my hair afterward and gave me tips for taking care of it. I left feeling so happy with my hair!! 10/10 experience! I absolutely love my hair and would highly recommend Stevie and this salon! ❤️

  This is a disaster. She completely ruined my hair and cut way too much off. I even showed her a reference photo and she still had no idea what she was doing , This isn't just a bad haircut; it completely ruined my self-esteem. Next time, be honest and just say you don't know how to do it

  Made an appointment for a consultation for extension and hair color . Elizabeth told me the price and to come start with an all over color the same day. I came back that evening and then the price changed to more than double the price she had told me. Wasted my time and gas going back to have price totally misquoted . Terrible experience.

  I can't recommend Elizabeth Stooksbury enough. Her work is beautiful and she goes above and beyond to help her clients achieve their hair goals. As if her skill wasn't enough, what I also love about her is her kindness, patience, and warmth. She has a way of making you feel cared for and seen. The world needs more Elizabeths, both in the salon and out. I also want to give a shout out to the manager that helped me today and offered me a hair cap as I was about to enter the torrential rain. Thank you for helping me preserve my lovely cut, highlights & blowout.
