  Thank you to Christina for an amazing full highlight experience. She was so easy to work with and is so talented. Sherlyn was also a huge help in the process and was very lovely. Great folks, great atmosphere. Glad I found them!

  My stylist, Mia, seemed to be in a bad mood from the moment I sat in her chair. The entire appointment felt like I was bothering her or that she simply didn’t want to be there. We discussed that my hair had been damaged from previous processing over the last few months, and I completely understood the need to be careful with heat and additional damage. I asked for a bob haircut, and the cut itself was fine. The problem was the styling afterward. Once my hair was blow-dried, it looked extremely frizzy and puffy. I politely asked if we could flat iron just the top so I wouldn’t leave looking so frizzy. Mia refused, stating that she would not use a flat iron because of the condition of my hair. While I respected her concern for my hair health, I then asked if she could at least spend a little more time blow-drying it to help smooth it out. When she did, it felt like she was doing it reluctantly and with an attitude. The result still looked very frizzy. I then suggested trying a smaller round brush on the front sections since my hair is short and a smaller brush might provide better control and precision. Instead of working with me to find a solution, she rolled her eyes as if I was making an unreasonable request. My hair may be damaged, but as a paying customer, I expected some effort, guidance, or collaboration to help me leave feeling confident. Toward the end, she added a little more serum, which immediately made my hair look less dry and frizzy, proving that additional effort could have made a difference earlier. This review isn’t about the haircut itself, it’s about the experience. I was so excited to come here, but unfortunately I left unhappy. Not because my hair is damaged, it’s bc Mia’s attitude sucks! Be kind, you only have one chance at first impressions!

  Christina did a beyond amazing job with my hair and giving me the look I wanted, not only that but she made a long process feel so quick because it felt super enjoyable! The atmosphere of the salon and everyone present was relaxed and friendly, I really enjoyed the whole experience and its definitely now my favorite salon in NJ.

  I’ve been getting my extensions and color done by Haleigh for 5 months now and I REFUSE to go anywhere else. She’s completely transformed my look and I haven’t felt better! She’s patient, kind and is open to giving me advice on what’s best for my hair long term. Staff at Desert Rose are incredibly sweet and helpful and I’m so happy I found my salon after months of searching since moving to NJ from NYC.
