    I wish I had taken better before-and-after photos to show the difference. The salon itself was very nice, and the woman who did my hair was sweet and pleasant to talk to. Unfortunately, I am very unhappy with how much length was taken off. Before my appointment, I specifically explained that I only wanted about 2–3 inches cut because I absolutely loved my hair length and didn’t want to lose much of it. I also explained that I hadn’t gotten a haircut in about two years because I’ve had bad experiences in the past where too much hair was cut off. I even mentioned that I have anxiety/trauma surrounding haircuts for that exact reason. Unfortunately, I feel like much more than the 2–3 inches I requested was taken off… it is closer to around 5 inches or more. There also wasn’t a point during the haircut where she showed me the length and asked if that was okay before continuing. Had I been given the opportunity to see how much was being taken off, I may have been able to communicate that it was becoming shorter than I was comfortable with. I did like how my hair looked when I left, and I tried to give myself a few days before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t simply overreacting. But after putting my hair up and realizing how much shorter it is, I became genuinely upset. I can no longer put my hair into a bun, and this is now the shortest my hair has been in a very long time. I went in wanting a wash, blowout, some layers, and a small trim while keeping my length. I understand that asking for shorter layers may have affected the overall cut, and maybe I could have communicated differently, but I was very clear that preserving my length was extremely important to me. I’m disappointed because hair takes time to grow back. Once that length is cut, there’s no way to undo it. I just wish my concerns and the specific amount I requested 2–3 inches, had been listened to more carefully
