I got a gel manicure here a few times. Each time the final result was not great. I was hoping a different technician would make a difference. Unfortunately, after 3 manicures with 3 different people, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
The salon has a great ambiance and friendly staff. The issue is the quality of the work. A manicure involves good prep of the nail and cuticles. Without this step, it’s just color. Each time, my cuticles and nail beds were not taken care of and I had to ask to have this done, and I was made to feel as if this was an unreasonable request. The very first time I had a gel manicure here, the color held for about 2 weeks but the experience was not the best because I kept catching problems such as cuticles, sharp corners, and varied nail length. The next 2 times the cuticle issue was still present but the issue was with the gel itself. Gel began to lift off after 1 week. I returned last week to get a fresh gel manicure, was recommended to do builder gel to last longer- it began to peel off after 2 days!
I really hope management can make an effort to look into this so future clients have a better experience.

Abby and Katie did my mom and my nails. They look SO good ❤️❤️ love them so much highly recommend!!
I only went here because they describe themselves and advertise as an eco, non-toxic, organic salon, but when I went there, they pointed me to a giant wall of Opi nail polish, none of which is low or non toxic. I asked where they had the eco-friendly polish, and then they brought me into the next room where the pedicure chairs are. Then they handed me the stack of plastic polish samples. I again asked if those were the non-toxic polishes, and she just nodded. I’m quite sure they didn’t understand me. This place is more expensive and farther for me to drive, but I was willing to go because of the eco-friendly promise. The mani-pedi I got was ok, but not great. Really disappointing. This is on their site:
“Gaia Nails Organic Beauty is a non-toxic nail salon in Walnut Creek, CA offering organic manicures, pedicures, Gel-X nails, dip powder and lash extensions. Our signature organic pedicure features a Japanese herbal soak with 36 herbs, and every service uses eco-conscious, safe ingredients so your self-care doesn't come with harsh chemicals.”

Unfortunately I had a poor experience at this shop. I don't usually write poor reviews. I visited twice trying to speak with the manager, Phong, about my experience but was told she's on vacation.
I was racially profiled while visiting this shop. In brief, I bought the 99$ pedicure, the 55$ facial and the 70$ manicure for partner and self. The total came out to 393. While that alone is surprising (they upcharged) what's worse is I was asked discreetly (yellow memo) to pay before the service was complete. Not before it began but in the MIDDLE. I was hurt and surprised and off guard all at once. And yes, they asked me to tip so the service came out to 473. I hope they enjoyed every penny. I doubt it was worth it.

I went to this nail salon after a very disappointing visit elsewhere. They took off the nails that were previously done from another place and Abby my nail tech at this place was wonderful. She took her time, she listened to my wants. I was in love with the job she did. She even knocked off the $10 for the take off of previous nails. I will be going back in about 3 weeks. The nail salon is relaxing and peaceful.
