If you are looking for top-tier custom ink in San Diego, Full Circle Tattoo on Adams Ave is hands-down the spot to go. Their roster of artists is exceptionally talented and versatile across every style, but their specialized work is truly next-level.
Whether you're looking for vibrant Japanese traditional tattoos, detailed dragon tattoos, or bold American traditional pieces, their artists execute with incredible precision and artistic depth. They are equally skilled with clean fine line work, smooth black and grey shading, and saturated blackwork tattoos.
The shop culture is welcoming, ultra-clean, and highly professional from start to finish. If you want a custom tattoo in San Diego that stands the test of time, you can’t beat Full Circle Tattoo!

Full circle tattoo is great! I’ve been going to full circle for the past 10 years, first at the South Park location then to the new university heights. Both my wife and I love going to Jordae but everytime we go we always have pleasant interactions with all the other artists and staff. We always recommend full circle to anyone looking to get a tattoo!

Wonderful professional tattoo experience from start to finish, every time! I have had eight pieces done so far: one from an apprentice, one from a guest artist, and six from one of the studio’s long time resident artists, James Tran. The studio is a clean and comfortable space. The artists are passionate and communicative. And everyone’s portfolio of work speaks for itself. Find galleries on Instagram or their website. Go for flash or custom or both! Full Circle is the best!
Frequently Asked Questions About Full Circle Tattoo
How do I schedule an appointment?
If you know which artist you would like to work with, please visit their Instagram profile where most of our artists include a booking request form in their bio. For additional information about scheduling with a particular artist, you are welcome to contact the shop by phone.
If you have not yet selected an artist, you may email us or visit the shop between 10am and 5pm with a reference photo showing your desired size and placement. We will recommend the most suitable artist for your project and provide instructions on how to contact them.
In-person consultations are available upon request and are required for larger projects such as sleeves and back pieces, as well as for any cover-up work.
All appointments with all artists require a $200 cash deposit to be paid at the shop. This deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your tattoo. Once the deposit is paid and your appointment is confirmed, it is non-refundable.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Our shop minimum is $150 per person. The hourly rate for most artists is $200 per hour. Larger projects are billed hourly, while smaller pieces are priced individually based on detail level, size, and placement. Tattoos on sensitive areas such as hands, necks, and torsos may cost slightly more due to the difficulty of working in those locations.
For a cost estimate, please contact us by phone or email with reference photos and information about your desired size and placement. An in-person consultation may be necessary for larger projects to provide an accurate estimate.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We accept walk-ins when availability permits. Walk-in appointments are typically available daily on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 11:00am. You may stop by to receive a cost estimate and add your name to the waiting list. If preparation time is needed, we will collect a $100 cash deposit that will be applied toward the cost of your tattoo. We recommend calling ahead to confirm availability for that day. If we are at capacity or if your design requires drawing time, we can schedule you for our next available opening, which is typically within the following week.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Rescheduling requests require 48 hours advance notice. You must call the shop directly and leave a voicemail if contacting outside of business hours. Requests submitted via email or Instagram direct message may not reach your artist in time and will not be considered proper notice. Failure to provide at least 48 hours notice will result in forfeiture of your deposit, which means it will not be applied to your tattoo cost and a new deposit will be required to reschedule. Each appointment may only be rescheduled twice. Any additional rescheduling will result in loss of your deposit.
When you contact us at least 48 hours in advance, we will gladly reschedule your appointment (subject to the two-reschedule limit). Please note that if an artist is booked significantly in advance, your rescheduled appointment will be set for their next available date, which may be several months away. The more advance notice you provide, the sooner we can accommodate you on the calendar. We will retain your deposit for up to six months. If you do not attempt to reschedule within that timeframe, your deposit will be forfeited. Deposits are not refunded for outright cancellations. We value your time and efforts and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us.
Our calendar system will send you text and email reminders seven days before your appointment. If you do not confirm through the provided link and we are unable to reach you by phone, your appointment may be released and given to another client. Please save our number in your contacts when booking and ensure your voicemail is set up and has available space.
May I bring a friend/mom/child/dog?
We do not currently allow visitors, as we do not have a waiting area or lounge space for guests.
If you and a friend or family member would like matching tattoos, we can schedule back-to-back appointments on the same day. The person not currently receiving their tattoo will need to wait outside. There are many excellent local businesses to explore on 30th Street.
Children are not permitted in the tattoo area at any time. However, if a child must accompany you for a consultation (not for an actual tattoo appointment), that is acceptable. Pets and companion animals are not allowed inside the shop for sanitary reasons. Service dogs and psychiatric service dogs are permitted as required by California law.
Where do I park?
Parking is available on the street only. Metered spaces can be found throughout the area, and unmarked curbs with grey paint on surrounding side streets offer parking that does not require feeding a meter. Please observe all posted street signs to avoid receiving a parking citation. You may need to walk one or two blocks to reach the shop. If you are running late, please call to inform us.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates are available. You may purchase one in person at the shop with cash, or we can arrange a digital gift card paid through PayPal to send to the recipient. If you plan to visit the shop to purchase a gift certificate with cash, please call ahead to let us know.
How can I set up an appointment with a guest artist?
Guest artists manage their own appointment bookings via email. Their email addresses are listed on our guest artist page and on their Instagram profiles. Please include "Full Circle Tattoo" in the subject line of your email.
